I did a 0 damage Energy Drain on WP 2nd boss and it still gave me MP back. Prior to patch this would have given me nothing IIRC. So looks like it does apply to PvE.

Only done Ultima once, but we just had tank LB3 and then basically anybody can eat a bomb solo for laughable damage.
We've apparently got this on farm status now. If I was recording mumble audio it'd probably be easier to understand the fight.

the way my FC has learned to deal with the last set of bombs is to use the Tank LB 2/3 during the Casting bar before balls.
Casting bar > Limit break > everyone just spread out and eat a bomb. Nobody dies people can solo balls because the lb shield is keeping them nice and protected. By the time last ball phase is done ultima should be around 20% that takes like 1 minute to burn down. Tank LB durring cast animation is a fool proof win
Beat this earlier yesterday legit using tank lb strat that someone posted in here but when I went to help a friend get their W there was a glitch. the first set of bombs that spawn tethered got messed up. We blew up the first ball and the other never disappeared. It literally just stood there. Ultima would use the move to summon more but nothing would happen because that one was still chillin'. Made the fight retardedly easy. Can't wait to get rolled back though![]()
Would be nice if Tank LB was the intended way to handle that situation, as the idea that you have to be that coordinated to have the remaining party eat 28k damage in 4 seconds with nobody dying is pretty weird. And more sensible than having a DPS sac themselves to avoid a wipe because everybody's low on the last ball.
Here's what we did for the last bombs:
Off-tank PLD hallowed ground and takes out 2 bombs. The 4 DPS and healers and the other 2 bombs in quick succession.
Seemed to work pretty well.
When we did it legit the first time we had the tank hold off until the last seconed to pop lb3 and we had groups of 2 go after them. the offtank took one solo with def buffs up such as thrill of battle. With lb3 and damage divided between one of the other dps and myself wasn't too bad. We just ate a medica2 after and regen'd up. Honestly to me, the hardest part of the fight is the big circle of magitek things that spawn and even then it is super easy to dodge.
I loved this fight. Yeah, it's relatively easy, but it just feels..so damn epic and fun with the Primals coming out and doing their thing. On my end, every time one of em dies off after 'blowing it's load', I'm just like "RIP Garuda. Lol. Also like how they come out in order of difficulty from Extremes.
It's the order they came out in Phase 1 from Praetorium too.
If I remember correctly, it's also the reverse of the order that Ultima weapon killed them in the storyline.
Ultima Weapon devours them in Ifrit > Titan > Garuda order which is the reverse of how he loses them (Garuda > Titan > Ifrit) and also the same order in which we defeat them. (The reverse order is the same order we fight the Extreme primals in too)
So am I the on,y one who thinks That this fight is annoying to heal with all the dodging near the end?
P.s not hard, just annoying lol
Only spot that annoys me is the bits around the perimeter during the section where the four ships crash. People run in to the middle too early, so of course the entire center point gets blasted with lasers. Soil+Swiftcast-Succor+Fey Covenant only helps so much.
Fun fight otherwise. Tank LB3 method is the way to go.
It's annoying to do a lot of things, the thing that got me was AOE's being occluded by other effects. E.G. Plumes occluding Weight of the Land, Crashing ships doing the same to Lasers. Ships crash, unwittingly cop a laser or three to the face, nasty surprise.
Having said that though, the fight is heaps of fun and i'll be rinsing it again after reset. I was actually expecting it to be a lot more difficult, but a quick bit of reading and a half decent JP DF group was enough for the win.
This fight is indeed tons of fun. As per usual though the constant complaints from each wipe ruins it.
