The Last of Us. That game is an experience unlike anything I've played before. Bioshock Infinite gets an honorable mention though.

Real PC/Console GOTY? "Last of Us". No contest there. My wife had to leave the room and cry in the bathroom multiple times. She refused to let me replay it for completion. Great game, would emotionally scar again.

Bullshit addictive flash GOTY? "Cookie Clicker". My wife had to leave the room from all the goddamn clicking multiple times. Fuck that game, so glad they stopped updating it. Great game, would carpel tunnel again.

Path of Exile. The most in-depth game since the 90s and it's so refreshing to have to figure shit out by myself instead of the game cramming useless information down my throat.

Stop what you are doing and play LoU. It is a masterpiece. No other game this year is even in the same tier. If you picked something else, you either haven't played LoU or you are an awful person.

I agree. This year was an easy choice for me, but there a bunch of really good games that I still haven't gotten a chance to play.

I rarely play games just by myself, so it's usually party games I play with other people.

For myself, Rayman Legends won it for me. Loved nearly everything about it with only a few complaints here and there.

The question for me would be wtf did I even play this year that was made in 2013. Mainly been playing 2012 stuff this year due to regular sales and b1g2s on 'em for the cheap.

Outside of Ni no Kuni (haven't put enough time in), my GOTY so far is looking to be EDF2017 Portable, which came out in English at the start of this year. Game is so bad, but I can't put it down anyways.
