    metal gear rising and shin megami tensei 4

    to take things in the opposite direction, worst thing i played that came out this year was devil may cry devil may cry. thankfully i didn't actually pay money for the opportunity to do so. i'm also pleased to see nobody has included it for GOTY or honorable mention

    Last of Us. I could not put that game down. The only disappointment I had with it was I wanted the story to keep going. I haven't played many of the other titles people have mentioned as I don't game as much as I used to, but I'm surprised only a few mentions for GTA 5.

    edit: I still haven't played Bioshock Infinite and am considering getting the triple pack from Amazon. I bought 1/2 for the 360 and while 1 was fun it wasn't mind blowing to me or anything. I didn't even bother with 2. I'm assuming Infinite is just that damn good?
