    Its the kind of story that eats at you long after you play it. If they didn't notice its beauty when they first played it they did over time.

    I purchased Metal Gear Rising, and I loved it. Last of Us was just better. lol

    As a story and experience it was enjoyable, but as a game it wasn't amazing. Kinda like Bioshock Infinite. I enjoyed them all, but only MGR kept me playing after I finished it.

    Or maybe folks just have differing opinions? Anyway, agree with welt, Metal Gear was a fun ride but The Last of Us was just fantastic.

    I bought and beat MGR day 1 and tbh , thought it was average at best. Watched the ending movies then threw it back in the case and on the shelf. Never really understood what people got so excited about.

    My biggest problem with the Last of Us was that since the start it felt to me too much like the Road. Imo the story telling had a lot of weak points too. And interactions with Elizabeth in Bioshock were just so much better than with Ellie

    i've played every triple A title this year besides the god awful Battlefield never ending and Call of Duty hey look a doggie, as much as i liked both of them games tomb raider, Assassins creed, No ni Kumi, Bioshock and maybe 5 other games, Last of Us was just a little different which makes it stand out for most people (Worst game of the year Alien marine's Gearbox needs to get fined for that garbage)

    Every time I've come into this thread I've wanted to say something to this effect but haven't because I'd end up getting into a pointless argument about it. Glad to know that somebody else was on the same page though.

    Last of Us definitely had the best story/atmosphere and graphics of 2013, but it was just kinda bleh gameplay wise IMO. I'm not a fan of stealth games, and it was just way too stealthy for me. Definitely one of the best games of the year, but Bioshock Infinite takes my vote for GOTY. Had a damn near perfect mix of action/story/atmosphere/graphics and that ending just pulls at your hearstrings. Joel/Ellie go through some emotional stuff, but nothing they did can touch

    For someone not having a PS3, I'd have to go with Zelda: Link between worlds.

    Do it. You really won't be disappointed. Ignore the butthurt tards saying go read a book, I've been gaming since the age of 3 and loved every minute of it.

    Pickup last of us and dark souls, you won't regret either.

    I will say I found the first couple of hours of last of us really dull, but really enjoyed everything after that and it's still my GOTY so yeah.
