Ni No Kuni for me
A quote that couldn't have put any clearer how TLOU left its mark on me.
"This game ripped me open and chewed on my heart like a feral beast. Very few works of fiction have done that with equal ferocity. Not just talking games, but films, books...ANY media. TLOU went totally beyond the usual appeal of its medium and hit a new high water mark for video games.
How often can one truthfully describe a game as transcendent? Even though it was a year of amazing games, IMO there was no other choice for GOTY."
How emotional does the game get? I just got out of the hotel last night so I don't think I'm that far in the game's story yet.
Oh, bleh. Then the game hasn't even started for you yetThere are a lot of emotional roller coasters in your future.
I watched this girls stream just for certain moments and see her reactions. Did not disappoint.

Just fast-forwarded to the most gut-wrenching parts...damnit man.
First opening scene with his daughter trumps anything I've ever felt in any media and it managed to do that in 15 minutes.
Gustavo Santaolla's music had such a huge impact in conveying those emotions too. I can't believe it wasn't nominated for a Grammy in best score soundtrack for visual media like Journey last year. I've played through the game three times, got the platinum and can still can't watch those scenes without choking up.
Apparently I'm the mad one.
lol
edit: or maybe you've just never seen a good movie or tv show before, either way it's a sad statement to make.
^I agree with you, I guess I'm too old and seen too much shit just like it
