Argh. Yahoo mail problems..Could I get past this with a proxy?

I haven't been able to contact yahoo mail yet since they're not open, but it seems there's a issue with Uverse and Yahoo Mail.

I basically time out instantly every time i try to login. Since my password is saved on Trillian and I do NOT remember what it was, I have to try to reset and it's not accepting any password I try ><

I did some searches and it seems this is on AT&T's end, not Yahoo. Is there a free proxy I can use to tunnel though and check my mail until AT&T gets their act together? This is just getting ANNOYING..(Oh and before anyone asks, this is affecting AT&T's mail server too, but no one's tried to check that mail today.)

Mine was doing the same thing this morning from work. We don't use U-verse. I tried every browser I have installed, thinking it might be a problem with Chrome. It took about an hour, but everything seems to be working fine now. No more instant timeout.

There's a password-field viewer you could use that works with trillian. I had to use this a couple times due to me not writing old passwords down (have some 10+ year old accts in trillian).

It works. Maybe not for everything, but works on trillian last I tried.

Effluo; Yeah it is working now tho the AT&T mailserver is prolly still down bleh. I thought that was a symptom of what was wrong. Hopefully they'll fix that soon tho we don't check our AT&T mail very often.

Orinthia; I'll check that. Best I know what it is in case I want to log in elsewhere and not on my PC.

I probably should have mentioned how that program I linked to earlier works.

Be sure to snooze/disable or add an exception to your antivirus/firewall since this is an invasive program by nature. It has a window with a crosshair in it. You align the crosshair with the text field you want to uncover and click the hand picture. In the window, it will show the text in a highlightable box.

Just tested this on my install of trillian 5.4, build 13, free version, and it worked.

add: in trillian, you need to go to "manage accounts" and click on the account you want to peep at. It should show your username and password all filled in. Align the crosshair on the password, click the hand, and the text should get placed in the box in the program's window. Obviously there has to be a password there to grab.

Thank you! Now I know what it is for later. Annoying problem but for future, it's good to know what that annoying password is.

I'll keep that around as well; Windows Firewall doesn't seem to protest though about it.

Sorry about the double post but..

That program saved my neck today. NOW I can't check my mail in firefox at all >< gah! Luckily Thunderbird works. I had to look up how to do that online, but I added Adblocker Plus for Thunderbird to be safe.

Might not worry too much and stick to Thunderbird. If people are curious about that I can find the directions on how to do that.

Noticed chrome not liking yahoo mail as well today. "Error code: ERR_TOO_MANY_REDIRECTS" Pretty sure it's the few ad/script blocking plugins for chrome I have, but fuck them if they want that disabled. I have some even more restrictive plugins on firefox but it worked like nothing happened. idk.

Well, if you'd like to try thunderbird; Remember this. You will be using IMAP. POP3 on Yahoo costs $$ and that's sucky but well, there you go. Here's the directions I found but if you install Thunderbird, you can go to add a existing email account, put in your Yahoo email, real name and pass, and it will just work/autoconfig for you. Send and receive, go!

Also there's a Adblocker Plus for thunderbird, no script blocker tho (It's a email client!) but you may want the adblocker since you are using a free email.

Also whatever was making Yahoo mad at Firefox has stopped now. I can check it in my browser again, but I may just stick to Thunderbird now unless I'm tired! ^^
