Lol this strat has been around forever in JP server at least, but it's not replicated because its not that easy to replicate due to it requires precise timing to LoS Ifrit, sprinting helps.

Haven't tried to cancel him out (haven't even done Ifrit EX in a couple weeks) but I'm 90% certain the moment his cast bar shows up and target line goes to the healer, he is facing that healer.
You know this actually gets me thinking... can you LoS the initial casting of Allagan Rot? It would be pretty pointless but kind of neat to test.
If no one has Rot it'll always cast it again in my experience (either current rotting person dies, or dies while it's being applied etc)
I guess best case scenario if you could keep cancelling the cast he'll be stuck doing only that but between the ease of dealing with rot, the enrage method and the fact 2.2 drops in like 2 weeks fuck it
You'd have to keep everyone essentially right next to him to dodge it anyway, which isn't exactly feasible.
Come to think of it is the initial rot target random or does it only target people high on the hate list? I can't recall offhand ever having it cast directly on me as SCH (I never have to pay attention to hate on SCH but I assume I'm close to the bottom of the list) but fighting it once a week that could just be by chance.
Its pretty random iirc, i definitely has seen it target healers first
Definitely random, I've seen it cast on everyone.
Kind of a few posts old now, but all the OMGEXPLOIT in that single healer reddit thread makes me want to stab someone. Why do people seriously think that shit?
Must think it's an exploit to LoS Planetcracker behind a pillar on that huge golem in Amdapor Keep too then. And Canker, and Void Thunder III, and Void Fire...
Fucking people.
Of
Shit should not be changed because its not easy to do for just any healer. I can however understand that it was not planned to work like this and just so happens to.
SE could always just give Ifrit the behavior of Haukke Hard's final boss where she rotates when casting if they really hate it. Mobs with "spell" autoattacks (ahriman, elementals) seem to do this now for those quick casts anyways. Can't seem to invincible circle dance around them since awhile back.
I used to be able to circle a dullahan with a controller and not get hit because his turning animation took so long. Wonder if that happens with any other mob.
