Any guitar players? Need beginner advice.

Thanks for each and every comment and suggestion guys/gals. I ended up buying a stratocaster with an amp and case for $175 from a gentleman on Craigslist. So far I've been learning the very basics but I must have spent hours upon hours on YouTube and surfing Google trying to read about a plethora of things. So far so good. I'm having a difficult time with my finger placement and they're easily exhausted over a 2 hour period but I'm assuming that will get better over time.

I'm really enjoying this however and it's definitely keeping my mind busy. Around hour 6 at work I start getting excited to get home so I can practice more. I'm going to look into a teacher towards the end of February since I'll have some extra cash lying around. Until then I think I'm doing pretty good so far. Thanks again amigos

If you want to speed along building up hand strength, can look into a Varigrip or similar products (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001OCGGEM). I keep one of those lying around my desk at work if I'm stuck in the office, and it has a rubber pad you can take off to emulate strings for building calluses.
