Another Atmospheric river has hit the bay area here in California. Working overnights and coming in at 6pm already had some minor flooding then , deputies arriving at the jail at 1am said some parts of the freeway that people use to get here might be closed soon so..that's fun.
Very thankful my commute is only 15 minutes away but for some it's over an hour so I anticipate many call offs this weekend.

We are getting hit pretty hard by this storm. So much rain and the wind yesterday was intense. Monterey and PG are all completely dark, no power, no comcast internet. Has created a lot of chaos at my work this morning.
central valley checking in. it's, um, wet. we are 2 miles west of the evacuation order. creek in my front yard is the 2nd highest i've ever seen it, and with how long it's supposed to rain i bet it goes for the record. i've got flood insurance but i don't want to deal with that shit. y'all be safe out there.
I have to drive to Reno next Thursday for a concert Friday from the North Bay and been watching weather reports very closely. Likely going to take the southern route through Carson City to avoid Donner Pass and Tahoe but part of me wants to see all the snow too.

We finally have a few days of dry and sun. More rain supposedly coming in the next few days. Hopefully without any wind. It is getting to the tipping point and we are seeing some major issues with the roads and trees falling all over.
I'm having anxiety due to driving to Reno tonight and watching chain controls constantly. I've driven in snow in Michigan for 6 years , eastern Washington too and never had to use chains. But California Sierra is notorious for needing them so guess I better learn today before I leave.
Southern route on 50 looks more clear so might be worth going that way vs through Truckee.

Was 90 today according to my temperature gauge that's not in the Sun connected to my weather station. Feels sweltering inside right now even with the fans on. I want to turn the AC on for a hour but heavy rain is coming so maybe it with cool it off. It's too early to be this freakn hot!

It'll cool down slightly, but then it'll get really humid. Then when the rain is over it'll be hot and humid together, yuck!
Lousy Smarch weather.
