87 degrees in late October and there hasn't been a drop of rain in weeks. No decent chance soon in their extended forecast models. Extreme drought conditions. High wildfire risk.

It was 5 here for a few nights according to this little weather station I have. It's very accurate because I tested the sensor after I bought it and it was always +/- one degree of the real temperature. I live at a slightly higher elevation so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Hell of an atmospheric river the LA area is experiencing right now. Flash Flood Warning is in effect.

At 932 PM PST, local law enforcement reported numerous flooded
roads, vehicles submerged, rock and mud slides, and quickly rising
levels of area rivers, especially in and around the Santa Monica
Mountains. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen, expect up to
7 inches around the Santa Monica Mountains. Additional rainfall
amounts of 2 to 5 inches are possible in the warned area overnight
tonight. Flash flooding is ongoing.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding produced from heavy
rain, and debris flows. THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS
SITUATION IN THE SANTA MONICA MOUNTAINS!

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges, and reports from law
enforcement.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Debris
flows consisting of rock and mud slides

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Thousand Oaks, Malibu, Acton, Van Nuys, Northridge, Encino, North
Hollywood, Chatsworth, Woodland Hills, Burbank, Universal City,
Santa Clarita, Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Griffith Park, Santa
Monica, Culver City, Venice and Agoura Hills.

A strong winter storm in SoCal will typically bring 1-2 inches of rain, so 7" in 24 hours is pretty significant. Our infrastructure is going to be overwhelmed, driving tomorrow is gonna suck.
