nah I had a job lined up in Michigan but they couldn't get me a flight prior to the storm they can't get me out till after. At least I won't have to stick around for the aftermath or for however long we're not gonna have power for.

Gonna ride this one out at my friend's place. The house we rent is in a evacuation zone and already had flooding with Helena; he's not on the first floor here, not in an evacuation zone, and even though he's on the 2nd floor, nothing here got flooded during helenea including people on the first floor, the neighbors, the street, etc. He crashed at my place during Irma; so he's letting me crash here on this one. Was able to bring everything i care about here too vs risking it all getting flooded over at my place (desktop, monitors, etc.) only thing left that can't be replaced at my house is my bike but I've got it elevated about 7 feet off the ground. We dropped his mom off at one of the shelters earlier and was just like nah we're good on that vibe

Tampa is indeed lucky if they manage to escape this. I heard they are still working on an infrastructure upgrade to reduce flooding in the city and it won't be done till next year.
