Snow shoes arent an eye catcher
I live near 14th and U in DC; it looks like the Walking Dead out there with people shambling in the roads. I just tossed on my ski gear and have been roaming around stopping for beers at various bars. Snow bunnies out in force. And if you have goggles, wear them; damn gale force wind with icy snow was killing my eyes.
One of the few times i want pics from you guys. Interested to see what your looking at outside/doing about it.
I swear by the shit dude. I've been doing it in WoW too now for years and irl. The second you complain shit happens. "Damn que us taking forever" boom pops. Never fails.
Our Blizzard info just got upgraded to hurricane force winds. Guess they are peaking at 70mph instead of the expected 50. All the shore areas are flooded as well from the surge and high tide cycles earlier and they should be worse later.
Picked a good day to not work. I've had my radio on all day listening to work shit incase anything bad or fun and exciting happened near me. They are busy as fuck and getting rolled, such stupid shit too. Tomorrow when I go in is gonna be great.
Staying the fuck inside. I had to work yesterday and drive in the stuff when it was really coming down (I live in Hampton, VA so the snow its anywhere as bad as it is up north) but pulling out of the parking lot of my apartment and seeing the guy in from of me swerve 3 times on the way to the main intersection wasn't a good sight.
Or see 5 different wrecks in one offramp.
And then leaving work when it was pouring fucking rain. I'm pretty sure I soaked my seat and now its just a block of ice sitting outside.
Holy shit; I just came out of the last bar for lunch and it is insane right now (3 PM). Just a fucking zero visibility squall. I had to go straight home. There are like 15 people cowering in the CVS entrance area hoping it will die down soon. Lot of people were strolling around earlier and probably regretting it now.
About 17 inches so far up here in Bel Air, MD. Winds are swirling real good right now but this old stone home is impregnable. Lots of pasta, guac and gaming in store for today. Tomorrow will be the big dig out.
Stay safe, all my Baltimore and D.C. Brethren. This is one of the many times I'm glad not to live in a city.
I'm about an hour and half north of you, we generally have two kinds of drivers in this area. Ones who get petrified of snow and drive like 2 mph, or the ones who are not afraid at all and drive 55-60+ on the main roads and end up in a ditch. As of now we had that starting snow fall, then overnight turned to freezing rain/sleet, and now more snow. So.. yay for snow/ice/snow layer combo.
We outta booze and roads closed. Worst blizzard ever!
It snowed quite a bit.
