Norfolk and Virginia Beach got walloped. Here's an explanation on where the forecast went wrong. For the first time in 13 years here I don't live on a street that floods badly.

Hmm i'm over here in Portsmouth *waves*
9 inches of rain here in central NC. They got about 16 inches like 30 miles SE from me. Lost power for about 40hrs and a water line broke, so we're on a boil warning for possibly 72hrs. Lots of fun when you have a 2yr old. Not to mention daycare is closed because of this, so I'm bringing her to work with me for my first day at a new job. Just gotta get all my security stuff set up and finish paperwork. Already had to wait 3 weeks for HR to finalize the background, then a friggin hurricane throws a monkey wrench into my first day.

We are okay over here, but we did have quite a storm. My middle brother looked out and said something about a whole tree went down in our back yard. I looked, looks like we're having a bonfire, that many branches..
Bald Eagle took refuge in a car in Florida to escape the storm.

Welp Washington is about to have its own Matthew. Two storms one for Thursday and Friday to stay things off and then the big one on Saturday to Sunday that is going to be one to make the history books.
Time to stock up on water, batteries, candles and coffee.
Yay finally getting some rain in bay area. Almost half an inch so far today. It's not huge but it's basically 90% of the rainfall we've gotten since june I think
Lights are starting to flicker also starting to think my apt is haunted.
It is. Better burn the fucker down quick
no that's spiders
for ghosts you get a Ouija board and ask them whats up
and then call the ghost busters and/or local mystery van
Might do a Ouija board, have a friend that's into that stuff.
But seriously, last night my phones charging cable falls to the side of the bed and I'm hearing the metal part going back and forth along the wood. Like a long drag against the wood back and forth. Not really interesting but it did that for roughly five minutes. I'm wide awake staring at my wall trying to gather the courage to look over the edge of the bed next to the wall. Finally turned my phone light on and see that the cord is just laying on the floor, no big deal. Coming home to lights on, blinds opening and that goddamn feeling like something is on the side of my bed. I moved in apt little over 2 months ago.
I'm an atheist without any misgivings so my only conclusion is that im going insane or need to change the anti-depressants that I just got.
Also windy here, getting ready for tomorrow's storm.
The Savannah area in Georgia got lucky..again. But Matthew tested this city big time. Trees that have been NEVER ripped out of the ground.. were ripped out, and these weren't tiny trees. These were those big ass OAK trees and other typically large trees you can find here. There was floral carnage everywhere. I been in that city 34 years and have experienced some near misses and I have never seen this type of tree damage before. Floyd was the closest my city every came since 1979, from having a full on blast from a Hurricane at full strength. Matthew made landfall(the eye came over the city), fucked a lot of shit up, nothing compared to Florida, but this was a warning: People need to take evacs seriously - if a weak cat 2 hurricane can do this to the city.. a full strength 3 or more would destroy it.
Yea, things aren't going well for me. But these pills are making me paranoid. Already left message with my doc.
In related news, stores here can't keep up to those stocking up. The QFC near me looks barren. Going to be interesting tonight, I will see if I can get a few pictures in my area.
