Airport cancelled almost 40 flights today with the coming winter storm.

Made it into work with like a foot and a half of snow that came down overnight. Main streets are okay, plows are working their way west to east and south to north on the major roads.

Residential roads are a nightmare though lmao. Drove by plenty of people trying to move their cars. Fuckers, if you don't have a vehicle that's got more than 5" of ground clearance and/or AWD with snow tires, you're fucked. This is the kind of day to just call in to work. And so many idiots are stuck at retail lots because they thought it was a good idea to stay there all night and line up for boxing day sales haha.

We were supposed to get that shitstorm in Dryden, but it seems like we only got the crazy high winds with a bit of snow. Roads are shit though. My brother in law was supposed to make it here from Swift Current yesterday but cancelled out in case he got stuck somewhere, and I doubt he's driving today. Parents are scheduled to land in Winnipeg soon too lol. I'm just glad we didn't get the 30cm they were calling for.

By this time tomorrow morning, I will have around 2 inches of snow and another half inch of ice on top of it. This will be the third such storm this year. Normally we only get one or two per year and we have a 4th threatening us for next wednesday. I enjoy the snow/ice but most people around here don't even know how to drive in the rain and it rains 9 months of the year here....
