    Harddrive Migration

    Hello!

One of my harddrives (not the boot drive) is clicking. I already bought new drives. The good news is that it doesn't have many things on it, but the bad news is that it has FFXI (normal and test server). Is there any way that I can transfer those programs to a new harddrive without reinstalling?

The old harddrive is 2TB. I'm replacing it with 2 1TB Harddrives. There's like 60GB of shit on there, so size isn't an issue but I assume I can't make an image or something.

Or, since it's not the system disk, just copy the data over and swap drive letters for old and new disk. Since all paths should point to the right location again, installed programs should work fine.

I've used Acronis for a few years, it generally turns out pretty well and you can download it as a free trial.

Clonezilla also works as a bootable option.

FFXI install files can go anywhere, the registry keys just have to point to the same path.

By the way, this worked fine.
