Any tips for doing BLM in Leviathan? Trying to get my hands on a BLM staff, but I noticed I was lower on the hate list than the SMN today (so he was doing more damage than me w/o even his pet; granted he had an i100 weapon where I only had i90). Transpose after he jumps if you're in Astral Fire, obviously. Do you try to time a flare right before he jumps? Do you use Swiftcast for that, for Thunder 3 right after he re-appears, or something else?

Did the SMN out-do me because his DoTs tick even while Levi is doing jumps and/or because he can keep them up on Levi during spumes? Does BLM just suck in this fight?

pretty much same thing for me lol, however how much you pulling there? i believe max i got 250-260 DPS there

That seems low, 290+ would be decent, the highest i've gotten is around 340-350

As smn I sometimes have dots on up to 6 targets... dot tail splume, contagion/fester, spread, dot head splume, spread/fester, dot splume fester, dot splume fester(depending on how i timed it).

Blm is still good cause you can knock adds OUT OF THE PARK(or off the boat?), so don't feel bad as long as you're getting that job done. One trick to help, is to thunder levi and the tail to help keep the thundercloud procs rolling.

Do it at a smart time obviously.

Depends on how your parser adds it up

If its over the entire fight, you can't do 290 as blm.

If its the snapshots of when levi is targetable you can.

I havn't done Levi in awhile but, something along the lines of casting thunder when he pops back up and swiftcasting fire3 while sliding, flaring the x2 adds or spume+head.
that's all i can remember atm lol, i just go smn because it's just better atm(pls buffs be good)

This was with i95 levi staff and around i92'ish gear so, nothing too special

I use act. I'm sure I can up my dps more because sometimes I do lots mistakes.

Also the faster you dps the less phases happen where Levi goes underwater. The more of these the higher your ACT dps will look since there is less downtime.

yup, i know with good DPS you can skip most of phases

however i wanna see those 340 dps on levi, what time it toke to kill it and so on

Scathe on slams (and anytime you are moving) are your friend.

Not sure if they fixed this, I haevn't done levi in a while but you can also time your aetherial manipulation on the slam to avoid sliding. as long as you're currently in the sliding process when body slam happens you wont move. it''ll give you an extra ~2 seconds ahead of everyone.

Seems good for how much she dives around. I didn't parse yesterday but I actually tried levi more. Had a phenomenal PT, 2 brd's rotating foe with each other, popping off fire3 crits for 2.3k with raging on. Never had a PT that was capable of phase pushing, but that one could. Was a beautiful sight.

The gear guide I'm using says you should be going from Sorcerer's Coat to Allagan Tunic from T2, then High Allagan Coat from T7. I'm not close to doing T7 yet though. Should I get the Weathered Evenstar Coat or skip it?

The Evenstar Coat is a great upgrade, and well worth the Soldiery Tomes. The Evenstar Coat is a double damage stat item, Crit Rate and Determination, which makes it a must have item.

Has anyone put any work into Novus? I have considered putting bits into it here and there but I am still debating on what stats. I was thinking of Crit and SPS since to my knowledge there still isn't a good/confirmed weight given to Det.

I'm considering between three options:

1. Crit+44 Det+31: Basically an improved Tidal Wave Staff, but expensive and/or time-consuming to make (19 Tier IV materia needed, plus any breakage).
2. Crit+33 Det+31 SpS+11: The above, but avoiding the 11 Savage Aim IV materia, which at least as of yesterday were 160K+ each.
3. Crit+33 Det+23 SpS+19: Avoiding all Tier IV materia, and probably the most flexible option in terms of going well with present and future gear.

Accuracy I pretty much disregarded, as the High Allagan gear has vast quantities of Acc on it.

Since I have 56 melds to do (33 in Crit and 23 in Det) for any of these options before I have to make a choice, we'll see how I feel about it when I get there. I'm on meld #9 currently; just doing 1 or 2 a day depending on whether the roulettes push me over 800 myth that day or not.
