People are fussing over the Water Vortex Arena because the last time they did this event (back in October-ish), the game was nearly unplayable due to connection issues, error codes popping up, brimstone raining, the whole nine yards. In order to collect the unit you have to do around 80 arena battles over the course of 5 days or so to accumulate enough points. But it was nearly impossible to hit this number because people would try to use an orb to fight, get stuff on the "connecting" slash screen for a few minutes, only to get hit with a "server is busy" error message AND their orb was gone.

There's plenty of reason to do it, for everyone. Water evolution material, as well as kings/gods/crystals, imps, burst frogs, sphere frogs and gems are tiered rewards based on how many points you get over the course of the event.

The level up rewards from 100-150 are actually pretty good for the harder content. Crescent Dew items are very valuable revive items you can use in hard content. They revive a unit with 75% HP which saves you from having to use Cure potions as well. They're only craftable during a certain short time event, otherwise the only way you can get them is from compensation packages Gumi gives out for server issues and delays. There's also a Malice Jewel to be claimed at level 150 (+30% to all stats sphere).

So, something cool I just discovered. Every 5 floors that you complete of Frontier Gate counts as a single Vortex fight. I just did one run going from 1-20 and ending. Checked my daily tasks and I'm 4/5 on clearing Vortex dungeons for today. That's pretty cool.

I farmed almost 15 miracles on thursday, between waiting Wednesday night for Thursday with a full energy bar, and then again later in the day when my energy refilled lol.

Twinkle Gem and Magic Ore are available spheres in the achievement store. Both are lackluster and definitely not worth 15k and 10k merit points respectively.
