The Unit of Choice event a while back had certain stipulations to qualify for it, like having an account open for X number of days; plus a form you had to fill out to actually get the unit. There's a good possibility they'll do the UoC again as the third anniversary wraps up.
Well, yeah. Avant is just.... that good. Seriously, he's one of the best broken lead units in the game for pure DD purposes. You will not get any survivability or BB management out of him as lead though. Also, for crit resistant content (like certain raid missions), his leader damage will be significantly reduced.
Avant is amazing because his LS gives 50% HP (more on that in a sec), +150% crit damage, +100% spark damage (not as much as Eze's 130% though), and a 200% BB mod. You can get an SP option to increase the HP bonus by another 10%, for a total of 60% HP. This is important because it directly ties into his SBB, which gives a 20% HP > Attack buff (which will stack on top of a standard attack boost buff, like Azurai, Atro, Eze, or Sirius). So more HP, means more attack.
Azurai's LS is still really good; offering 40% to all parameters (50% if you take his SP option which you definitely should if you use him as a lead), +175% crit damage (more than Avant's), a 200% BB mod (same as Avant), but instead of a Spark buff, Azurai gives a flat 10% damage reduction for some survivability over damage.
Back to Avant; his BB gives a 160% attack buff and 60% crit rate buff for three turns. If you pick the SP option, you'll also get a +50% Crit Damage buff on his BB (as well as his SBB). But.... I honestly would NOT pick that buff.
Azurai is the reason for that. His SBB is amazing; giving a 140% attack/def/rec buff, 60% crit rate, +75% crit damage (more than Avant's SP option!), and +300% BB mod (+400% if you select his SP option which you should!).
Fire off Azurai's SBB first, then use Avant's SBB to get a freaking sweet 20% HP > Attack Buff and everything just meeeeeeelts.
