This would be my nightmare if it were Trent Dilfer and not Kaepernick, but it's a close one still.
Brill, go to church. But don't go to one of those catholic ones or super bible humping ones, go to some kind of methodist or baptist where they just sing, relate a passage to stuff going on in todays life/world, sing some more and go home. It might do nothing or it might help or make you feel better. Doesn't matter what you believe, it could still help you get some weight off your chest. Just DOING something will probably benefit you and since the pirates aren't playing for a few months it might work.
Hate to be the dork that quotes wiki but its accurate:
Dreams mainly occur in the rapid-eye movement (REM) stage of sleep—when brain activity is high and resembles that of being awake. REM sleep is revealed by continuous movements of the eyes during sleep. At times, dreams may occur during other stages of sleep. However, these dreams tend to be much less vivid or memorable.[3]
Dreams can last for a few seconds, or as long as 20 minutes. People are more likely to remember the dream if they are awakened during the REM phase. The average person has three to five dreams per night, but some may have up to seven dreams in one night. The dreams tend to last longer as the night progresses. During a full eight-hour night sleep, most dreams occur in the typical two hours of REM.[4]
During most dreams, the person dreaming is not aware that they are dreaming, no matter how absurd or eccentric the dream is. The reason for this is the prefrontal cortex, the region of the brain responsible for logic and planning, exhibits decreased activity during dreams. This allows the dreamer to more actively interact with the dream without thinking about what might happen, as things that would normally stand out in reality blend in with the dream scenery
Something I didnt know, according to Wikipedia those who are blind from birth don't have visual dreams. The more you know.
Brill, if you want to donate, that's great! There's nothing wrong with that. Maybe you had this dream because you wanted to help someone, and didn't know how. Dreams are often influenced by what you were doing/thinking about before you went to sleep. There's nothing wrong with deciding to donate bone marrow because of a dream. It's a noble thing to do, so if you want to, do it. But it was just a dream. Everyone has dreams like that. Probably thousands of times, that they don't remember. You should not feel like you have to do it. But if you want to, knowing that it was just a dream, and didn't really mean anything, i think everyone here would support you.
There's a chicken or the egg joke here involving hard tits and tits making things hard.
My two cents is that I used to have dreams I thought were prophetic or meant something. I used to have all kinds of things happen to me that I chalked up to some kind of weird outside force, like getting bile caught in my throat in a very noticable way every time someone near me was about to die and other clairvoyant things. And maybe humans have a bit of a 6th sense for certain things, who knows. Nature is weird and mysterious.
But in the end it's all just wanting to think we're important and special and we're the one the forces of the universe just happened to choose for some grand mission. But reality's not really like that, ask anyone who's had their hopes and dreams crushed enough times. There is no such thing as magic or the supernatural. No matter how much you want something cool or bonkers to happen to you like in fiction and fantasy, it won't. Because it doesn't. Life is just one giant slog through a shitfest and then we die.
But hey, donating blood/plasma/marrow is a super cool thing to do. We can still take inspiration from the things we see, hear or feel, whether they're real or not. So I'd say go for that, at least... but don't expect anything else from a dream. They're just dreams.
I have dreams about random shit my friends and I do all the time and then usually 6 to 10 months later those things happen. It's never anything cool. Just stuff like playing video games, talking about certain topics, and crap like that. Though, when I was in Bahamas I dreamed that I was at the bar sitting on the two corner seats talking to this hot italian chick. Asking various questions about her life. Nothing perverted, sadly. Then two days later I was went to the bar to get a drink and find the Italian chick sitting there alone. I go to chat her up and started asking the questions I had dreamed about. I didn't realize it till I was walking back to the room that I had just relived the exact scene I had in my dream.
The funniest part of that though was when I had the dream, the next morning I told my GF the dream and how disappointed I was that it wasn't a sex dream.
I started to keep a record of all my dreams and I point out when the things happen and check em off. I don't know want to sound like I believe in fate or any crap like that. I just think it's neat that those things actually happen.
But ya, you should totally go donate stuff. Dream aside, it's a great thing to do and it can very well save someones life.
dreams are a side effect of the chemicals your brain uses to clean toxins out of itself while sleep
My granddad died in 2008 and for a few years after that I had dreams where he survived and that him actually dying was the dream. They progressed episodically where the previous dream would be continued. Was very strange.
Psychoanalysts have long broken away from Freud's crazy ideas. For something like dream analysis or guidance, a Jungian specialist would be able to assist here, and you don't have to worry about everything going back to your genitals. It's unfortunate that that's how people view psychoanalysis. But any way Jung believed in synchronicity and other surreal experiences. Jungian psychoanalysts are especially interested in these types of things if you don't want to necessarily seek out church or God or whatever.
martin luther king once had a dream, brill, and look where that got him. look where that got him.
i read this thread, promptly forgot about it, saw the title again and came to make a short circuit joke
i was not disappointed
