How does that in any way, shape, or form make it ok?
It doesn't make it okay. It just means that there are many reasonable situations where someone might have google glasses but not another pair of regular glasses. You were acting as if that would only be the case for idiots. And maybe that's true right now, since they are brand new, you can't even just buy them, and they are very expensive. But in the future? Nahhhhh.

And last i checked there's no laws against bringing a camera into a movie theater. or if there are, literally no one has followed it in years, so it doesn't matter anyway.

Laws? Who cares, the theater has the right to refuse service for bringing a recording device if they so choose.

    Or rules.

Who do you know that doesn't bring a recording device to the movies? Because I don't know any.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Dumb to talk about the future without knowing what the future will bring. Even dumber is to assume they will ever be cheaper than glasses when they require much more parts (including the frame/lenses), making glasses the smarter decision.

If they had the goggles, and their spare broke, you know what they should do? Not go to the movie theatre until they get another spare pair. Meaning, yes, even if goggles become cheap, you'd still be an idiot for taking them to the theatre and then getting upset about getting asked to leave.

This would be like saying your glasses broke so it's ok to drive legally blind because you can't afford another!

Don't be dumb. I know you wanna say cellphones, but if theatre people catch you with them out facing the screen they can and have asked people to leave. And they have every right to do so. Just as they have every right to tell someone with the goggles to put them away or leave.

Again this is no different than the sunglasses at banks. This is not a new concept.

If you point your recording device at the screen and they witness this you will be asked to leave. Don't be daft.

But I think that's the point. If they see you recording, yes, you get in trouble. But you shouldn't just because you bring in a device that has the possibility to record.

The goggles would be pointing their recording device at the screen if you are wearing them.

If you put them in your pocket, then sure, it'd be silly for the theatre to ask you to leave. That's not what happened, though.

It would still be in the theatre's right to do so in any case.

Who said they would ever be cheaper than regular glasses?

So lets say someone breaks their spare glasses, and has their google glasses still. They make an appointment with their eye doctor so they can get a new pair, but it's not for a week later. Or maybe they ordered a pair, and it'll take time before they arrive. No big deal, since they still have their main glasses. But then, are they not supposed to go to the movies until then? Because....why?

This would be like saying your glasses broke so it's ok to drive legally blind because you can't afford another!
Uh...how? Bringing your glasses into a movie theater doesn't endanger anyone.

Even if it's turned off? That seems unlikely. I mean, sure, they have the right to, but i don't really see it happening.

....yes? It's not like movies are a requirement. And one week of no movies is not going to kill anyone. They could netflix, redbox, etc. Shit happens. You are crying over one week? please.

But it is against their rules. You don't get a free pass just because you have a prescription on them.

I mean, sure, they have the right to,
    That's the fucking point.

Calm down, i never said they would die if they couldn't see a movie. But there's really no reason they can't if they want to.

Is it? Are there official movie theaters rules? I mean, obviously you're not allowed to record a movie, but I've never been told i wasn't allowed to bring a camera into the movies. I just turn it off, and that's that.
    That's the fucking point.
I mean, they could kick someone out for being ugly. That doesn't mean they should, or that the person it happens to shouldn't be upset about it.

The reason they can't is when the theatre doesn't want them to.

And if the theatre is fine with that, GREAT. If they aren't, tough titties to you.

I mean, they could kick someone out for being ugly. That doesn't mean they should, or that the person it happens to shouldn't be upset about it.
You can't put ugly in your pocket in two seconds, and ugly doesn't record movies. Dumb comparison is dumb.

If you go in, and the theatre doesn't care, more power to you, you are retarded to get upset if they do want you to leave because you've got a camera pointed at their screen that you can switch on at any moment. You really are naive if you somehow think that's the same as being ugly.

You know what you could also do? Call the theatre ahead of time to see if they are going to throw a stink. But, obviously, that means taking some responsibility for yourself, and I guess we just can't have that, can we?

Sad to say, his department would be the first to go. But even then it won't matter until they can get unionized, which I don't think would ever happen. (Which is kinda weird as we found out Disney's 3D department somehow got in the animation guild. But then, Disney actually cares about their workers so /shrug.)

Fuck all that noise. If they're not recording the movie then there's no reason to harass people for wearing glasses.

Pretty sure unions are the devil. I've worked for Target and Walmart and they both taught me this.

My dad recently got paid to stay home for 3 months, because he didn't fail a drug test. Fuck yeah unions.

So should banks not ask people to remove their prescription sunglasses unless they are actually trying to rob or scam the place?

If they can easily determine if someone is planning to rob the bank, then no. Unfortunately, they can't easily determine that, until it's too late, so they take that precaution. Luckily though, it's pretty easy to see if a camera is turned on. Not to mention there's a lot more at stake in a bank than in a movie theater, where their shitty google glass recording is only going to be watched by poor people who desperately want to see it, but can't afford to anyway.
