Those with an annual household income of more than $100,000 are more likely to be baseball fans... More southerners call college football their favorite sport... those with a high school education or less tend to gravitate to auto racing.

I know I was definitely burned by the strike season that killed the World Series. That coupled with Griffey leaving the Mariners a few years later killed any ability I had to care about baseball (yes, despite my hatred of the Seachickens I was a hardcore Mariners fan back in the day, mostly due to my love of Griffey and Randy Johnson).

Followup on this, according to ESPN quite a few people turned down the job when offered, with some even declining to interview. Along the lines of the Browns, the bs floating around the offices kept people away from the job, and this is basically something they fell in to after all their preferred options went other ways.

If I read the article correctly, this is a super small sample size, only 2311 people were involved. Suprised though with the major boom in MMA over the past decade they weren't even mentioned. Not suprised by basketball though, cause fuck basketball. Hockey needs to keep climbing more though!

Agree with this a lot. The few baseball games I've gone to are far better when you are there. The game on TV is awful.

I'm trying to get into NHL but the amount of games they play are overwhelming. I normally only tune in around the playoffs.

The hockey fans I know make me feel like I don't belong. They are a bit too serious for me.

They play the same amount as Baskeball, and half that of baseball. I guess if Football is your sport, an 82 game season would seem like a lot compared to 16, but it's just all the more to watch if you do enjoy it!
