Great date movie. Predictable in a way, but you'll walk out happy you saw it. Wonderful acting by every one...cept DAT king. He had some good moments, but his accent was all over the place.

King Stephan was still better than Princess Bad Accent and Prince Can't Quite Grow A Mustache.

Yes but they're kids, so I gave them a pass for being awkward.

I'm a bit hesitant to watch this because of what I've been hearing that

    Spoiler: show

This is similar to the Oz movie where they try to explain that an evil female character from a classic tale was originally a kindhearted person but turned evil because she was jilted by a lover which in this case is King Stefan. The only difference is that I heard they try to redeem her and make her more of a hero and that there is some type of mother-daughter relationship between her and Aurora. Based on how things seem to be going with Disney movies, it will probably end up like a Frozen where:
    Spoiler: show
the kiss to break the curse doesn't have to be done by a male love interest, but can done by anyone that has paternal/brotherly/sisterly love for her

Its a kid friendly Disney movie. Are you expecting the plot of a suspense film? You knew how this was gonna end before you went into it, but you still watch it for how enjoyable the ride is.

Saw it, liked it. The special effects were amazing and Jolie flying was stunning.

I really loved this. I loved the way Maleficent was really sympathetic throughout and agreed with the poster above me, the flying scenes were amazing.

Will most likely buy this when it comes out.

Also, dat silhouette in the palace when she arrives at the christening. Not a spoiler because literally the exact same scene happens in the original.

Saw the movie with my lady -- it was a beautiful movie. I've always been known to have a softer feminine side when it comes to certain movies, and this movie really touched those cords. You really felt for Maleficent as you watched the movie, despite however predictable it could have seemed. This is magnified if you have ever taken an interest in her as a child. I can see male types being turned off to the movie however, as it is a quite different telling than the one in Sleeping Beauty, one that touches on the feminine feels of a love between a mother (or mother figure) and her daughter.
