Qui a coupe l'fromage?
Thanks to this thread, I just watched 45 mins of 80's and 90's cartoon theme songs. So good
I've started to think, what if hollywood does something really out of left field and the next piece of childhood ruined is Pirates of Darkwater?
There's no real point in continuing to argue this, but I do think that you still misunderstood what I was saying, even though you conceded to re-reading my posts and therefore understanding them better.
To be straight about it, Disney has demonstrated that they can simultaneously do retro appeal and invent new things. "Wreck-It Ralph" was used as an example because of its numerous references to gaming culture, both modern and classic, which are seamlessly portrayed in a picture that's fresh and new to children who won't understand any of those throwbacks. Likewise, the short I linked to, "No Service," uses an art style resembling old-school Disney, and the risque wit that they used to be known for (a la Daisy putting a revolver to her head in a classic short), while also being well-written and produced, ensuring it can be enjoyed by adults and children alike.
TL;DR:
Gummie Bears or GTFO
My employees at the job had no idea who/what the Gummie Bears were, so I sang the song to them (what I could remember) to hopefully jog a memory... Yeah, they just looked at me like I'm a crazy. Which I pretty much am so wtf.
Its good to see that show actually existed, I starting thinking maybe I was remembering a fkn cartoon ad for candy or some shit.
Talespin could be boring at times, but I saw an episode a few years ago and realized that it's a Disney show about illegal smuggling and running from the mob and gangsters. Their plane gets shot up so many times, I don't know how Talespin made it a full season.
Also, fuck you all. Inspector Gadget theme top 5 all time.
When does the live action of The Raccoons come out?
Best theme from my childhood. So ridiculously early 90s. Dat ridiculous rapping. It's basically a Faith No More song.
Points also for Darkwing Duck, and the Chip 'n' Dale theme's ridiculous slap bass. Oh man, the early 1990s were the exact right time to be five years old.
You probably missed out on the pimpness that was the Super Mario rap theme.
Good times.
Captain N was my jam. I wanted to be that nigga so bad.
