Long story short:
Every now and then, and by that I mean several times, every single day pretty much, one of the laptops at work decides that RAM and DISK activity are at 100% and stays that way.
It slows the systems to a crawl.
As far as I can see, no processes (taskmgr/process monitor) are actually claiming all these resources, using RAMMAP the nonpaged pool is massive, but it doesn't show anything actually claiming it.
my google-fu has shown me that it is not an unknown issue, and lead me to tinkering with virtual memory and start-up files, but none of the suggested solutions have shown any results for me.
nada comes up on chkdsk. I've reinstalled all drivers, my next step is a full wipe & reinstall, which isn't that big a deal, but I would like to determine what exactly is going on.
Halp!
