35 minutes, damn bro, assed out

Yeah forgot, i think if you have General you have to have an IV, cause i had the same.
See i didn't bleed at all, was p. weird. I had some blood on the original gauze, but then everyone i put in after that was pretty much clean. They put an entire cotton farm worth of gauze in my mouth too now that i think about it. shit was stupid.

I don't anymore. I left that position but still worked at the old job over a year ago (supervisor, so I wasn't on the radios), but ended up leaving entirely in August. My current job is mostly typing and sending a lot of e-mails back and forth, but not a lot of talking required - we just do some talking amongst each other which I can easily live without.

I just popped an Advil for my morning pain routine and I'm waiting for the dull pain to go away, I'm gonna eat a hearty bowl of oatmeal, then brush up and head over there. Appointment's at 8. Nervous but god I'm so glad to get rid of it.

Okay I had it done. Pretty much painless. They numbed me up and before I knew it, it was out and done. I was super nervous about it and really it wasn't that big of a deal. They let me look at it and I could see exactly why it was causing me so much pain. I will spare you all the gory details.

I now have gauze in my mouth and I just took an oral antibiotic. I was also given some Vicodin to take as needed for pain. Basically just waiting until the bleeding stops then I'll have some diced fruit. I expected that to be much worse than it was, but I'm at work now, so we'll see how it goes. Whole process took about 25 minutes.

I didn't take any. I thought about it but I really don't need the keepsake and I generally like to avoid oversharing if possible.

Honestly feeling pretty good right now. I had some watermelon from Publix for lunch and I've had a bit of pudding and suffered through my coworker bringing something from PDQ that smelled delicious but I wouldn't have been able to eat. She even offered me some fries but I just didn't think that would be a good idea yet. I'll try to save the pain meds for right before bed unless absolutely necessary. I think I'll be eating solid foods again by the weekend. Honestly I am relieved right now, I expected much worse.

One tooth, right? That wouldn't have been so bad. I had all 4 pulled in one sitting. 2 had to be taken out after slicing open the gums.

Not a good couple weeks for me hehe.

Yeah, just one. I actually do need my bottom two wisdoms removed as well, but they're not bothering me so they can wait.

Upper wisdoms seem to heal better than the bottom. Just like everyone's said, keep it clean with salt/water rinse.

Upper wisdoms are pretty tame, you should be fine with most foods as long as you're gentle while chewing. Bottom wisdoms are the problem for food.

When you get your bottom wisdoms removed, make sure they give you a syringe to clean with. Everyone heals differently and it's very common to lose the blood clot, even when you follow all their advice of no spitting, straws, sucking, etc.

When it's lost, a hole will appear in your gum at the extraction site. Don't panic unless it's causing excruciating pain. You can have the hole, clean it regularly and avoid having food stuck in it - as long as it's clean you will avoid infection. No infection, no dry socket.

If it is causing pain, it's more than likely infected, it will be an immense throb and can cause ear aches and other pain. You can return and have them clean it and fill it with a medicated paste to help it heal.

I had all 4 removed earlier on Tuesday the 4th. Same situation - my wisdoms came in perfectly when I was young. Plenty of space and none were impacted into other teeth or my jaw. Just like you, I didn't go to the dentist for over 10 years. Your decay sounds very similar to mine. Finally have insurance so I got it over with.

They used dissolvable stitches to close the sockets and so far it's been okay. Uppers are fine and my bottom right is healing perfectly. The day after in the evening, about 36 hours after the extraction, a small hole appeared on my bottom left. There's no pain and it's slowly closing on it's own. I rinse with salt/warm water every few hours.

For food with bottom wisdoms, puree the shit outa everything. You can eat ribs - liquid form. My favorite easy food is Cream of Brocolli, buy the thickest you can and add creamer.

All in all you'll be fine.

Just be happy you're not a smoker.

Yeah I'm basically back to some normal foods at this point, coworkers and I went out to Cracker Barrel today and I had pancakes, eggs, and bacon (chewed on the opposite side). I was a bit nervous but everything seems okay. I hope to be eating normally again by the end of the weekend, but we'll see how things go.

Yesterday was really rough, the antibiotics they gave me really turned my stomach inside out and I was so nauseous I had to leave work, which I really couldn't afford. I ended up eating nothing but Gatorade yesterday, I called and got the okay to stop taking the drugs so I'm going to heal drug-free and I think I'll be fine. I was so glad to have my appetite back today, because yesterday fucking sucked.

Right now it just feels kind of weird up in that area where the tooth was. I've kept my tongue away from it so it can heal but I notice it missing just in general. I would imagine that will go away over the next few days. I can't remember what my last extraction was like, that's how long ago it was. I'm gonna just continue to be careful with it. Already I've noticed a quality of life increase because I haven't needed pain pills since it was pulled, where I was popping Advil like fucking candy before.
