as an atheist i will happily listen to anyone about there religion or there views but i will tell them i can not be "temped" by religion, once its my turn to explain why there "speech" is....."wrong", "NO MY GOD IS THE BEST GOD HE IS SO AMAZING HE JUST DOES LIKE EVERYTHING" it does worry me

I'm glad someone posted this because I meant to watch it the other night, but was unable to stay up.

I'm most of the way through and have to say that Ham has really not given any evidence that his theory makes any sense. He has put up videos of scientists who believe in a young earth, said "there is a book that tells you the answer to that," and has done not much else other than try to say that radioactive dating is inaccurate. In fact, the most compelling piece of evidence was that they had found a 45,000 year old tree in 45 million year old Basalt.

Anyway, I have to go back and read through this thread still, but I leave you with this. The Nye stare-down.


Oh also, natural law has not changed, but we are making assumptions (like the rate of travel of tectonic plates) and that's just assuming. We can't observe the past. Natural law hasn't changed, though.

if the "natural" laws of nature that we "observe" can change, then how can we have all this technology that requires laws of nature to be constant... i.e. that pretty mac laptop, those video screens behind him, the microphone hes spewing shit into, hell, everything around us.

i really do not buy into religion at all, i consider myself an agnostic, for this reason, and i bring this up because bill nye was asked about intelligent design and he led into agnostic beliefs. life started on earth, according to science, most likely at hot thermal vents at the bottom of the ocean, now if life was completely random to have started it would have had to have started more than once, if this is correct, then we should have different types of dna on planet earth, but we dont, all dna is basically the same, just different setup (bananas share 50% of their dna with humans), this leads into many things, us searching for a second genesis on another planet, we may not know we found anything because it has the same double helix dna as us.... anyways, early morning rantish, excuse me lol

so yeah, this guy is dumb as shit and should prolly just jump in front of traffic, or at the very least shoot himself in the balls so as to not reproduce any more

It is very possible that multiple forms of life started up, but through the process of survival of the fittest they didn't last.

Loved it. What's not to love about Orlando Jones, Julianne Moore, and Seann William Scott. David Duchovny I could do without, but I didn't really have an opinion of his performance.

No, logic was okay because that's what Christians use. It was making assumptions that was bad.

Assumptions can't be used to do science! I mean, just because we make assumptions and then be sure that our assumptions work for any given problem/theory that doesn't mean they are viable. Even though they are assuming there is a higher power (God) that created everything and that is the answer to everything.
