I said to Miz before, I have a crazy theory that Gettleman wants Cam out. If he doesnt supply him with any good targets, hes gonna have shit #s when his contract is up. Makes it easy to pay him less or straight up get rid of him

Why would he want Cam out? What could he have done to create a good WR core out of thin air? It was bad last year, then you let old Steve Smith and the underachieving Jojo Lafell go. Aside from letting Greg Hardy walk and using that money to overpay Eric Decker, I don't see what he could have done.

what he could have done? oh i dunno, signed any of hte tons of free agent WRs?

decker, sanders, edelman, nicks, hawkins, jones, jones, tate, rice, even some other lesser quality guys but who have proven nfl experience like andre roberts

i know some of these guys arent great but fuck, you need something. there are a few left on the market as mentioned so let's hope they go for it

Did you miss the slightly important fact that they don't have much cap space? If Spotrac is accurate, they have $10m after releasing Steve Smith and they still have to sign their draft picks. Decker and Nicks are the only guys on that list with any chance of being a low-tier #1. Decker was way out of their price range and Nicks didn't accept their offer.

That leaves them with the option of signing the cheap leftovers on the WR market and draft picks. Signing mediocre players to rich deals in free agency is the dumbest thing you can do when building a team.
