I knew the answer before I asked the question. My point was basically that they're not truly "dropping support" until you can't log in on PS2.
I disagree, if you can no longer do new content then they've certainly dropped you. They're not going to just completely shut off all PS2 users, there's no reason. All the old content is already tailored to them might as well make money off their subs
People will naturally migrate from PS3 to PS4 over time. I'm certain Yoshi-P and his boys will support PS3 for about 2-3 years in, then completely drop support once the number of PS4 users over take PS3 (which will undoubtedly happen within 3 years time going on 4). It was really well played on their behalf.
Are you even reading this discussion?
I mean, I'm not trying to Internet Tough Guy here but "eliminate the PS2 users to free the game from architectural restraints due to the lowest common denominator, allowing for better features/performance on newer platforms, increasing player retention and attracting new players" is DEFINITELY A REASON.
You're arguing that they haven't quit supporting PS2 when clearly they have since new content is not accessible to them
Hmm no. PS3 has a very limited amount of memory which is bound to cause issues. Granted that so far is has had no effect on PC as they simply didn't introduce certain features on PS3 right away but it still is a big issue. PS3 support will be dropped as soon as the PS4 version picks up and considering how fast the console is selling it may happen sooner than most of you think. And by "dropping support" I mean that they'll start reducing features and content maybe like they did with FFXI on PS2 in the US. They may not outright cut off the PS3 playerbase but they may not release an expansion for the platform after the very first one.

There are ways to access the content for NA PS2, but it's so convoluted to access that content it's just better to quit, or purchase a crappy PC and continue playing that way. They stopped supporting NA and EU PS2 because theres no longer a market share for it, the PS2 players have either become PC players, or quit all together. The very few who are left either have a JP PS2 or they don't play SOA content at all (which would be silly).

Fucking finally. The Sic and Obey pet commands can now be activated without a target present. Furthermore, pets will remain set to either command even when re-summoned.
Also...
Don't think anyone knew this was an issue but least they let us know they fucked that up.Summoner and Scholar are now counted as separate jobs when determining the speed at which the limit break gauge is filled.
Great quality of life patch, a lot that was needed earlier at release but hell I'm glad to have it now. Fucking ready check hell yes.
fucking lol, this wasn't working like this before nowSummoner and Scholar are now counted as separate jobs when determining the speed at which the limit break gauge is filled.
Ability to set markers on the ground. FUCK. YES.
Now I can tell idiots HEY STAND HERE TO NOT DIE. THANKS.
Just for the curious, the new wait command is /action (action) <wait.x> where x is the number of seconds.
Funny thing is that the JP notes wrote it in full width characters to get around some sort of error that I presume made it not show up on the E page, writing a short blurb about why they used the improper characters but to use half-width for the game itself. Then the English translators failed.
