You can look at it like this. If you're chopping down a tree, sure you could do it with a dull axe. Maybe you're the most skilled lumberjack in the world and have the world record for dull axe chopping. But your potential is going to be limited by your equipment.

A person with a chainsaw could potentially cut down that tree in a fraction of the time. But maybe they're retarded and don't turn it on, or cut it like a jigsaw, or forget to put gas in it, or didn't wear their damage reduction lumberjacking suit and they die. At face value which guy are you going to bring to cut down your forest in a 45 minute time limit? Probably the chainsaw guy cause if he does his job at least half right you should be fine.

You need a decent combination of not a retard and not geared like a retard to succeed, and the wiggle room for being a moron is usually bigger than being geared bad.

That may have been the case, I cant be bothered to check. Either way, I was pointing out that "defense/PDT (guy said DT)" wont save you.

DT is rather different from PDT (and was left vague as DT for that reason, per the above post, it should be MDT or DT). It will enhance your chances of survival. From the DD perspective, all you can do is toss on MDT/DT/Meva gear barring a defensive ability such as vallation.
