Operation Trail Mix, lmao
good on them
Idk about that, they failed to prove their circumvention resulted in proving illegal activity, and that's not even the worst part when the judge for the case says their use of encryption is circumstantial evidence for their illegal activity. Like, what the fuck kind of reasoning is that =/
The judge did exactly that.
Lizard Squad decided to DDoS Blizzard last night. Probably over Blizzard shutting down a vanilla private server.
Apple Stole My Music. No, Seriously.
https://blog.vellumatlanta.com/2016/...-no-seriously/What Amber explained was exactly what I’d feared: through the Apple Music subscription, which I had, Apple now deletes files from its users’ computers. When I signed up for Apple Music, iTunes evaluated my massive collection of Mp3s and WAV files, scanned Apple’s database for what it considered matches, then removed the original files from my internal hard drive. REMOVED them. Deleted. If Apple Music saw a file it didn’t recognize—which came up often, since I’m a freelance composer and have many music files that I created myself—it would then download it to Apple’s database, delete it from my hard drive, and serve it back to me when I wanted to listen, just like it would with my other music files it had deleted.
I know I shouldn't laugh, but I seriously couldn't stop laughing at the absurdity of this practice.
On one hand, that article is written as unreasonably as possible.
On the other hand, it's pretty unreasonable that Apple enforces a streaming-only music ownership model.
I hate everything about that article, I read it earlier. Just reinforces my non-use of their store for anything.
Yeah I also read it earlier and it makes me glad I refuse to use any of that shit anywhere but on my phone, which I never connect to my PC, and keep my media on external drives
Apparently this feature isn't a default setting, but Apple's shitty, vague interface will ensure that this problem will keep happening until they finally make it clear about what they are doing with your files when setting up the streaming service.

I fucking hate how much companies are pushing streaming and cloud services but ISP's are not keeping up. Hey assholes I don't give a shit how good your streaming service is I can't get decent enough internet at my house to even utilize it. Want me to stream my movies and music instead of buying them outright? Then put pressure on ISP's to provide better internet to rural areas.
Nope, just the consumer. ISPs still rake in money, streaming services make the same, the consumer just pays twice for it.
I assumed everyone meant everyone, including the ISPs and content providers.
