Everybody is afraid of HRG because he is responsible for the events. Them traveling back in time is not them changing it, it is them causing it. There, I just saved you many wasted hours of watching the rest of this series.

They should have made the boss guarding the fortress Absolute Virtue

Yeah, it kinda/sorta/mostly works in Doctor Who strictly because he's trained in time travel and there are paradoxes beyond his control. And even then they'll write it so the TARDIS refuses to travel for him for the plot. Unlimited time travel just opens up too many holes.

Does it? Someone obviously traveled back to tell Tim Kring not to make this or it would be a disappointment that cemented his failures and he moved forward anyway to prove everyone wrong.

I liked it a lot more when Hiro's powers were more like fate kicking in and helping him along, not him being to go whereever he wants.

Also, what can teleporting tween do that Hiro can't to save the earth?

honestly, i think the next episode is going to give an answer to why time travel isnt a viable alternative to whatever the teleporting dude does with the blonde to save the world. if that happens, id expect to see how it ties in to the whole flickering time skip footage we saw in the hospital film

Basically Hiro needs to die or it'll almost certainly be a big plot hole.

Is anyone else completely turned off from this show simply because of Katana Girl?

She "should" be done. But we'll see the extent of her fathers power, I suppose...

I imagine if he can create virtual shit in the reall world to do whatever the fuck he wants, she'll be back. If even for Asian dude to get laid. He said "I love you" to her. She's coming back based on that line alone

Not only is she listed for all of this season...but going back into the past can be a huge reset button.

Maybe they'll head back in time and make her an interesting character.

I mentally try to not give bad marks to the show based on bad graphics. I mean, TV can still be compelling even if the budget doesn't match. The thing that gets me about Katana Girl is instead the pure insanity and lack of even in-universe logic surrounding these powers, so lets suspend disbelief and go over what works and what doesn't.

    - Stuff that works
    * A dude has a power to manipulate electronic data to the point that he managed to transfer it into the real world and create a living being. We can accept this as a premise
    * Katana girl re-enters the game when she unsheathes the Katana. This works too. She doesn't have powers, someone stored this power here, since that seems to be a thing now.
    * Hiro being trapped in the game actually works. If they can digitize powers in this storyline, they can digitize the fathers power to convert people to data and back.

    - Stuff that doesn't work
    * The game is somehow in 1-1 scale with the real world, this is stupid. This leads into the next point ...
    * Katana girl can actually enter the game from ANYWHERE and exit ANYWHERE. The katana girl premise only really works for me if she herself doesn't have powers, she a a creation of a power not a person with powers. This plot would have worked a LOT better if she was bound like real data, if she had to hop into routers or some such and then enter and travel within the game.
    * The "video gameyness". I get that she's going into a video game, but do we really need giant samurai guy? Also the whole evil shadow who talked to her? What programmer made that character to have actual conversations with a digital character they weren't aware existed until she appeared in the lobby.

HAHAHA... ok then, that too. But clearly people are bothered by the video game shit alone.
