    Blade Hi Critical Hit Rate

Finally got access to a Kannagi and was able to test Hi's Critical rate. Ended up being able to force critical hits well over the rate Rin was.

If I had to guess I'd say Rin was just given a critical rate based solely on TP, likely since it's a low level WS. That being said I wish there was an easy way to test more of the WS for similar properties.

All respect to your testing attempt, but WS critical rate is hardest thing to test in game, along with TH. "Hardest" in the sense that, since it is a random variable to determine, one need not 1 but several "test points", each tested with a sample size high enough to warrant a confidence certainty on the tested % at said point.
While 20 WSs is laughable, it's a step done. That's why any test involving testing critical rate or TH can't be done with a single simple test but several group of poeple testing each a different "test point" afk all night long for 10k+ samples.
Also you didnot mention the mob you tested on, and your dex, were all WSs done at same TP ?

I didn't list any of those things as it was irreverent to what I was testing, was a follow up to this. I was simply testing if Critical Rate gear/atma had an effect on the WS at all, not quantifying it's Critical rate. If it hadn't, the rate would have been well under 50%.

215DEX, Crapaudy, TP around 100%(no sekka). Not exactly scientific enough to be used as a point.

a ok sorry, didnot know you just wanted an eyeballed ballpark :D
Tough yur linked test, kinda reminds me of another question still untested: are crit-based WSs capped @ critrate50% ?
    Same for critdamage.

I'm kinda in a similar case with my Ukon, but i'm more interested OUTSIDE lolAbysseaWOWstyle. As with some old WScrit% testing on RagingRush and Evisceration showed a minimum of 10% @ TP100%, but no proof for the rate and the next anchor points(@TP200% and TP300%), could probably hypothesis a starting WScrit%=10% for all crit-based empyrean as well (if not more), still to be tested.

If there is no cap on critical hit rate on WS inside (100% has been observed), then I see no reason why a cap would exist outside (if that's even physically realizable.) There was some generic JP formula for most crit weaponskills, although I never saw the data and they seemed like mostly speculation. Either way, we do know that there is certainly not a universal formula (True Strike and Blade: Rin being obvious exceptions.)

If I were to speculate, I'd say they probably fall into a few categories.

TP modified only (Blade: Rin probably falls in here, probably older weaponskills like Dulling Arrow too)
Base and TP modified (most of the newer critical hit based weaponskills seem to fall into here)
Exceptions (True Srike, probably others that aren't coming to mind)

For the first two types, there may be more than one generic trend, but I foresee maybe a few different types of trends (a generic trend and maybe an empyreon trend?)

Probably won't ever get enough data on stuff to see either way. It should be possible though to quickly see which weaponskills aren't modified by base crit rate (as you can get this over 100% with gear/merits/atma.)

Regarding crit-based WSs, i had (and still think it might hold water) that their critrate is based on a base value (for example @ 100%=10%) + a rate=function(TP, number of WShits)

Like if you compare evisceration and RagingRush, each hit of evisc "SEEMS" to have a lower critrate than RR's... TrueStrike and BackHandBlow(1hit) have relatively high critrate.
    Not sure if i'm clear.
