Magic Burst Bonus order of operations

Looked at magic burst bonus and it says something amount sharing a term with all gear... never really tested it myself but pretty much since static earring came out it's listed it and blm af2 hands as factoring seperately at http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Ca...g_Magic_Damage . So wonder which one is correct...

1.05*1.05 = 1.1025, which means you'd need to cast a spell over 400 damage to see it. It's hard for me to skillchain and MB with a 400+ damage spell due to casting time and skillchain considerations.

As far as the casting speed test, I can try to do it that way! Divine Benison was easy because it's actually Fast Cast.

I used to sometimes be able to get T3 off on rdm a long time ago. Nowadays a T1 spell can hit over 400 dmg lol. Idk guess I'll try to think of some way to test it and try to do it if I got time. Probably something ghetto /sch lol. More jobs are open now thanks to more MB gear and there being a trait. Could probably get /sch spell to enough dmg.... hmmm Guess I'll get cracking soon

I'm pretty sure you could test this easily with Stone1 and as low as +3 dINT...
For a 2 WS skillchain, the base MB bonus is x1.3 right?

    Stone 1: V=10, M=1
    V:10 + dINT:3 * M:1 = D:13

    13 * 1.4 = 18.2 ... 18 dmg
    13 * 1.3 = 16.9 ... 16 * 1.1 = 17.6 ... 17 dmg
    13 * 1.3 = 16.9 ... 16 * 1.05 = 16.8 ... 16 * 1.05 = 16.8 ... 16 dmg

    -edit-
Nevermind. I just realised BLM and even RDM have magic burst bonus job traits too, so I guess a different spell/dINT is probably needed.

OK, if BLM90 has +11 MB Bonus from lv84, then you can still test it using Stone1, but +2 dINT instead of +3. :P
I wonder if the trait would then have to be factored in separately too though?

Well, from the one datapoint we have, we can already tell that there's rounding at some point. I mean, I know some good people worked on the magic damage formula in the past, but I'm still pretty suspicious of the "everything is separate" claim basically because it's hard to self-skillchain and MB on BLM solo before 80.

Actually, based off the one datapoint:
floor(floor(229*1.3)*1.21) = 359 (reversing the order does not work)

If you use individual terms, regardless of the order or how many flooring steps you use, you end up estimating the damage at 361~363.
If you only combine two of the terms (so 1.16, 1.05, and 1.3), you end up with 360~361 regardless of the order.
If you combine all three terms, you end up with 359 only if you multiply it in the order listed above.

Based on that, wikia is very likely wrong. Though I'm shocked, I'll try to contain myself.

If you're talking about when we worked on order of operations, I used BLU for those tests.

Naw, I meant the original people who did order of operations for the wikia page. Suiram and such, I want to say. Rambus had a hand in it too, but that's maybe more of a cause for concern than confidence.
