Longer answer: Mine feet look like that also, but more on the balls of my feet and big toe, not the heels. But mine is attributed to wearing work boots and walking on concrete 12+ hours a day at work. it may be part of a larger issue. I would be more worried over the blue legs. if it is occurring in both legs, it may be one of several issues. The most severe being a blocked artery or vein that is slowing down the blood flow enough to cause the issue. When her legs return to normal, the blockage may be breaking free allowing blood flow to normalize for a short time span. If this is the issue, and the blockage makes it's way to the heart, its game over. Go now.

Just spoke to her on the phone, she told me she also took Yazz a few years ago which apparently can lead to DVT. Either way she wont let me come get her so im dragging her to clinic later.

I'm thinking dvt, which you really need to have looked at now. Like. Now.

Seriously. Cracked heels like that usually mean diabetes or DVT - either of which can cause acute cyanosis, poor circulation, and scaly skin.

Good to know, I had thought it was just due to her job having her on her feet all day long and her shoes are not great.

Most if not all hospitals have a 24hr advice nurse. She can at least take five minutes out of her day to call. There's nothing that can't wait when it comes to your health.

Well it could be that too. That's why it's important to see a doc or call ask-a-nurse.

BG has once again provided another spot on diagnosis of go to the fucking doctor. Why wouldn't blue legs and having to prick her leg with a pin to make sure she has feeling in them be an obvious sign of something is pretty damn wrong lol

There are employers that would, if they could get away with it, fire you for having a heart attack on the job, much less go to the hospital over something on work hours. I can see why she would be reluctant.

    Sucks.

Anything's possible, but being on Yazz years ago probably isn't affecting her clotting status today. Has she had any surgeries / trauma lately? Any recent long distance car or plane trips or other immobility?

    Pretty sure it didn't.

You wouldn't know that though because you've demonstrably never picked up a book nor educated yourself on the matter. Let me guess, overweight housewife?

Don't worry, as the article said, most didn't know about it. I only remember it because I was interested in taking Yaz at the time then saw all the shit go down about it so was happy I missed the boat on that one.

[edit] I am pretty sure Yaz was the trigger that caused w/e ruling that commercials now need to list side effects of medications et. al.

At least there was big drama surrounding it and then everything seemed to change shortly after.

boosh. tbh only reason i remember it is because yaz had these super annoying commercials, and the name stuck in my head, and then i saw a commercial for the recall like once a few years later and i remember thinking it served the company right for having such annoying fucking commercials.

My first thought was, her legs isn't getting proper blood circulation, which also means lack of oxygen, hence the turning blue. On the other hand, a glaring sign for this is heaviness, and a tingling feeling. But I'm not a doctor, it could be any reason.

Callus - Soaking the heels without any scrubbing wont get it off. They sell callus scrubbers in just about any retail store. Assuming she's not using one. Given my own experience with callus, she shouldn't be too alarmed about them, but it doesn't hurt to get a check up anyhow. Callus is just a pile up of dead skin caused by prolong friction in the affected area.

Edit: After seeing the picture, err yeah, doctor for that.
