BREAKING: Malaysia says files were recently deleted from flight simulator of pilot aboard missing jet.

Since the normal file deletion just removes the pointer to the file from the hard drive and marks the space as available to be overwritten then they should be able to recover it as long as he didn't use a program to specifically overwrite those files on the disk.

Satellites captured images of the objects about 14 miles (23 kilometers) from each other and about 1,500 miles (2,400 kilometers) southwest of Australia's west coast. The area is a remote, rarely traveled expanse of ocean far from commercial shipping lanes.

The commercial satellite images, taken Sunday, show two indistinct objects of "reasonable size," with the largest about 24 meters (79 feet) across, said John Young, general manager of emergency response for the Australian maritime agency.

They appear to be "awash with water and bobbing up and down," Young said.

The objects could be from the plane, but they could be also something else -- like a shipping container -- caught in swirling currents known for creating garbage patches in the open ocean, he said.

"It is probably the best lead we have right now," Young said. "But we need to get there, find them, see them, assess them to know whether it's really meaningful or not."

One of the pieces of "Debris" is 78ft long, so whatever it is, it is pretty damn big. This story is also why I despise 24/7 media, there is absolutely nothing more to add to this story right now until they either confirm or deny what the debris is that they've found.

Coverage right now is just a giant, 4chanesqe troll job.

Not sure if I'm doing this correctly, as I'm not really familiar with this kind of stuff. But I used this site to double check this and it seems like the southern version of the coordinate for Beijing airport is almost due south of Perth about 600~ miles (I eyeballed based on the distance from Perth to the coast of AU. Science, right?). According to CNN.com's graphics, the debris site they're searching is 1,446 miles SW from Perth.

The decimal coordinates for Beijing Airport is: 40.079857, 116.603112 and the exact same coordinates only south would be -40.079857, 116.603112 (double checked the Beijing decimal with google maps). I could see the debris site being due west of the coordinates I calculated. But IDK! Internet is internet.

Seeing CNN answer a question about why all passenger jets don't have ejector seats and parachutes is gold as well. Having an aviation 'expert' answer it on live TV is even better than gold.

This is heavily depends on which media and who is the reporter doing the reporting job. Over the malaysia here, I been reading bunch of bullshit stuff here from different media over the past two weeks lol. As we all know the malaysia government always fuck up (not recently anyway), but there are certain thing that not in their control, a.k.a those satellite ping and release of radar info.

Just looked on Inmarsat coverage yesterday after one Prof also wondering together with me how they able to approximate the location of ping. Porbably they found two inmarsats receive the ping, which help to narrow down the area.

Malaysia's PM is saying it went down over the Indian Ocean. Families informed that no one survived, but it sounds like they don't have concrete evidence yet. There have been two objects found in the ocean (which the Australian Navy is on the way to investigate) that they think are part of the wreckage -- but at this point, who knows.

Why would they tell the families no one survived if they're not even sure what they found was the plane. ._. The pings stopped there but were they unable to turn that off?

At some point they have to be able to take the planes last known location, time in air, and a number of other factors to come to a conclusion.
