Honestly I even thought they had a thing going in the first Avengers. Then Hawkeye's wife and family were introduced. I thought his family helped further establish the Clint Barton character, but to them it's heresy and doesn't exist lol.

^Sadly this is the case for a lot of people these days. They can't understand the idea of brotherly love between friends or that a man/woman could actually you know, just be really good friends. If they aren't in it to fuck each other then people just don't believe it.

I did think Clint/Nat were being shipped originally but that died off when they moved Widow over to that weird Hulk romance thing that came outta nowhere and Hawkeye took Guile's advice and became a family man.
