They gotta hook the casuals who don't know. Not that Marvel movies really need much hooking people anymore.
I've been weighing in my head all morning how I feel this is a different boat than all of the BvS reveals. The best I can come up with is that we have no idea what else he'll be doing in the movie besides that. Also, because it's fucking SPIDER-MAN IN THE MARVEL UNIVERSE.
So Spiderman is basically a stronger, faster, smarter captain america right? With less combat training/tactical knowledge?
From what we know so far? Basically, yeah. Actual super strength, super agility, genius intellect, but he's either a high schooler or a college kid fighting a trained soldier. I'm not sure what the background of new Spidey is. Cap's Super Serum is only supposed to be "peak human potential" so he's basically Olympian-level athletic in every field. That's still not enough to throw a car.
Yeah Capt. isn't just peak human. He's got superhuman strength and various other physical abilities.
Would anyone buy it if I use Spidey as a reason for me forgetting basically everything else?
I almost forgot Lang and Vision were in it.
That should be a Twitter feed. Remember, he's a hip Millennial.
I mean they made him the groups tactician in Avengers. Movies never going to overtly spell everything out but these are things you can get by having understanding of the chars from the comics.
Granted there's probably only two legit scenes in which you can see his unarmed combat, but those scenes are probably on point in terms of showing his skills. One being against Batrock, the other against Bucky. Also, his strategic knowhow was shown in The First Avenger when he planned and executed raids on Hydra bases. The man put together Howling Commandos, for christ sakes.
Also, this bit from the bookverse, pretty sure this would apply to movieverse as well.
The serum also affects the mind, allowing the individual to retain and recall any information they take in. It also allows the individual's mind to react and process data faster, which improves their reflexes far beyond those of a normal human. For example, Steve Rogers has stated that he can dodge bullets because he can see faster than they move.
Well. He can't dodge every bullet...
Spiderman is one of the most physically strong heroes in the Marvel Universe.
For Cap, it depends on the Cap. The movie Cap is probably "Peak Human performance" Cap.
Edit: Movie Cap is mostly Ultimate/Earth 616 Cap which is mostly a human, I guess, he's not anywhere near Spiderman though.
