Also, Izzo went on mike&mike this morning and basically said "everybody thinks I'm this michigan state forever guy but really, I'd go to the nba for the right offer, but nobody that matters has ever even talked to me about it."

It goes without saying that everybody would be upset. I would just look on the brighter side of it all, and that is that the football program is getting better. Izzo leaves, people will get over it.

it would be about like roy leaving for nc I'd guess (a few are still pissed, 95% will love him forever regardless), except with obviously a bigger effect on college basketball as a whole

however/whenever it eventually happens it'll definitely be sad to see a tourney with no izzo after these 15+ years or whatever it's been now

You know, Izzo says stuff like that but when he almost went to Cleveland a few years ago he came out and said "Spartan for life" stuff.

I don't doubt he would leave the for the NBA with the right offer, but it would have to really be a right offer for him to leave MSU I think. Like inheriting a Jordan + Bulls team good offer. Him, Dantonio, the AD and school top brass all seem to have great respect for each other. I just don't see it happening.

I think if Lebron decided to stay in Cleveland back then, Izzo would have left for the Cavs. When it was up in the air, Izzo was reluctant and decided not to. He will 100% leave if the right team and franchise wants him.
