Miami Marlins star outfielder Giancarlo Stanton was hit in the face by a pitch and was taken off the field on a stretcher in Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Stanton crumpled to the ground and was bleeding from his face after being hit by a fastball from right-hander Mike Fiers. The All-Star slugger was placed on a stretcher and taken off the field on a cart.

Stanton was replaced by Reed Johnson, who was hit by Fiers' next pitch, inciting a benches-clearing incident that culminated with the ejection of Marlins manager Mike Redmond.
