Yeah but the trick is that cramming everything onto your cheat sheet was studying... most of the time by the time I was done filling both sides of a 3x5 card with tiny handwritten text *my teachers were sadistic and said handwritten on a 3x5 card* I wouldn't even need it during the test because I spent so much time reading the material to write it down on the cheat sheet.

finally got my ingrown toenail fixed. the chunks that were digging into my flesh were easily the size of my smallest nail. i essentially had an entire extra nail in there. toe is killing me but that should improve over the next couple days.

yeah, i'd been doing that. this is the 3rd time ive had to have this done, and the second time was on like 5 edges, across 3 toes. they had to destroy the nail matrix for the part they removed each time, but this one grew back almost immediately. the rest were successful. the ingrowth always starts at the root for me, so i can't just do it myself. i'll be resuming the soaks tomorrow, assuming everything looks fine when i take the bandage off. it still feels like fire right now. but i'm glad to have the damn thing out.

yeah, they did that. i shoulda specified. they used some chemical to kill the nail matrix, starting the second time i had it done. it worked on the toes they used it on, except for the one side that was just removed. that one came back, and almost immediately started growing sideways. this was like 10 years ago so it's been bugging me for a long time, it just finally got the the point where i couldnt put it off any longer, having become mildly infected.

this time, hopefully, it'll stick. i really dont wanna have to do this again haha

I did this for 2 years and I know people talk shit but it's the best shift to ever have. I loved the physical labor and people I worked with because we could just be ourselves. Yay work.

Performance reviews happened earlier. I guess I got the equivalent of an A+ in my entire work section of 25 or so techs. Got a 5% pay bump, which is to say is really good considering my last 2 annual pay increases were 2% each. I heard my subsection of 7 other techs complaining that they got screwed on their annual pay increases. I guess my raise ate up most of the budget. But I earned that 5% like a champ.

Also since I was with the company before we got bought out by someone huge, I am considered a legacy employee and received a nice 5 figure performance bonus. Compared to everyone else in my pay band that was hired under the new company, they got screwed (again) and received less than $2000 of a company performance bonus.
