grats niro!
Wow, grats to pretty much everyone on this page.
I guess my own personal win is, for a paper I had to do in one of my writing classes, we were supposed to write a travel piece about a city we know well, so I chose my hometown of Erie, PA. Now generally, I fucking tell everyone that they should seriously never ever go there because it fucking sucks there, but apparently I managed to make Erie sound pretty damn good because I got an A on the paper.
My random win is that now I can go longer than 10min before wanting to listen to this again now.
So, in late May I will be in Paris for a few days then off to a trade show in Cologne. Then I will be going around Europe generally through major cities. I am thinking of going to see Eluveitie, Behemoth, and Judas Priest on June 6th in Solvensborg if I can line it up right, or Metal Fest in Czech or Nova in Austria if that doesn't pan out.
Anyone live on the beaten path in any of these countries? France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Northern Italy, around London, haven't decided on Scottland while I am already in the UK, and then around Dublin? If you do then I can say hi to you. Perhaps you are on my server and don't like me in game and you can murder me or something too. Just leaving the possibilities open.
Little sister's surgery went smoothly and she's recovering just fine as of now. Still in ICU, but I was even able to talk to her today which was the biggest sigh of relief in regards to head injuries. Now time to coordinate with the local PD and find the fucker who did this shit.
Had my annual review done and got a 6% raise!
Very good friend of many years through FFXI hit a rough patch, had both his girlfriend's and his car go to shit.
All his funds had to be piled into a new vehicle after doing some check labor on them both. He's now without his xbox one.
Fiancé and I decided with the bit of extra unused funds we got from returns after getting mine to suprise him with a new bundle that's waiting for him at his door, right now.
He has no idea what it is, just a care package.
Oh my god, you should get video of that if you can.
I was able to get his girlfriend to record it.
It was glorious!
That is so awesome! I love doing surprises like that. Last summer my grandfather threw a surprise party for my mom's 55th birthday and not only was she blown away by the party itself, but she was completely flabbergasted that I was even in town and had flown up just to celebrate. It was the greatest thing ever.
Raises all around. 5% raise, and a nice $3k bonus which was 3% above the dept. target. Vacation time.
Finally pulled the trigger on a Florida Walt Disney World trip for May. 6 nights 7 day trip and haven't been back in 10 years. Basically first time there for hubby and got almost all the dinner reservations I wanted.
I grew up in Florida and with WDW, but haven't been back since right after my late mom's funeral in 2005. (she loved Disney do did a day in her honor)
We are annual pass holders in California for Disneyland and love it but this is something we have been putting off about 2 years now. I'm seriously excited and I hate flying lol. I'm just lucky I found someone as excited about all things Disney as me![]()
I go there pretty regularly, as a WDW AP holder. I'd offer to meet up with you guys but that would probably just be awkward and weird and I don't really do well with those types of situations lol.
BF and I have been wanting to check out Disneyland eventually, and his major goal is all of the Disney parks globally. So I get wanting to see how the "other half" lives, even if you've been before. You could also check out Harry Potter in Universal if you're into that, it's not that far away and totally worth it if you're a huge nerd like the bf and I are.
My win:
Drove to Miami today, it's a four hour drive, but a friend of mine I met online was down for a quick vacation so I decided to make the drive. This is the second time I've met someone from the internet and so far I'm 2/2 on awesome friends, even though the first person and I don't really talk to each other as much as we used to anymore, mostly because he has a family now and it's hard with the kids.
I mean she and I have been gabbing with each other for at least a year now, so it was so great to finally meet in person and just hang out and have actual human conversations. God bless the internet.
Beef Jerky and Dogfish, who cares if it's 4 am.
