I finally got down to visit my grand-nephews this weekend. So much fun, they are really cute babies. I had lost frequent contact with my sister for a while, so I spent a lot of the time catching up with my youngest nephew.

I somehow came home with this fellow:

His name is Mr. Turtle and he seems cautiously optimistic about his new home. His house is still in my parents truck so he's spending the night in his travel box. I put some water in there so I figure he'll be fine for the night but I have some research to do tomorrow lol. I have no idea what kind of care he needs beyond warmth, food, and water.

Turtles are pretty easy to care for, but most people do it wrong. He'll either live a million years if you do it right or 3 years if you do it wrong. Most turtles in the US live 3 years.

This is a win too, I don't know what you're talking about.

Takes me an hour to go 15 miles around NYC. Be happy you get 50 miles in an hour.

That looks more like a tortoise than a turtle. My wife and I had a red eared slider that we bought as a baby and we had her for 14 years before she finally passed this year. It was really sad our son was very sad he loved to feed her. Now we have a little Russian Tortoise.

Nope. I need to be able to get to all the boroughs during the course of the day. My main office is in the Bronx and I have projects in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan. If I had to take public transportation I wouldn't get where I need to be in a reasonable time.

Fuck a commute in general. At least that's still only 15 miles. Btw its 25 miles there and that alone takes an hour the trip Back home is right at 5.

Distance doesn't matter to me. The time it takes to get to and from is the issue.

I jokingly say to the fiancee "I can;t wait until we have flying cars," but being real for a second, that'd just make things even worse.

There probably won't be too many people who get this, but I'm psyched about it. Eric Church released "Wrecking Ball" as his latest single to country radio, and its surprising because while it is a good song, it's quite risque for country radio. Basically, the song is about him being on the road for a long time, and when he finally gets home, he has so much sex with his wife that they literally knock down the walls of their home (like a wrecking ball!).
    The song, for anyone interested:

No lies when I heard them talking about this song on the radio (yeah sometimes I listen to country) I thought it was just going to be a cover of Miley's song.

Too much reverb in the vocals, there. :/

It is a little heavy on the reverb--which he does not use live, surprisingly. After seeing him live, I realized why. His voice is MUCH better than his studio recordings. Not something that is typically the case.

With a song name like that you just know he is the start of the Miley Cyrus wave of country singers. Ones with even less talent and tons of producing.

I don't know why but country drives me absolutely nuts. I just despise it.

I don't like rap and hip hop, but it doesn't really bother me at all. Even trancetechtronichypnotienglishdubssteppingonthebea ch[dolololooododoo] (great title for those, right?) doesn't too much even if that is probably second.

Eric Church is absolutely nothing like you just described. If you are so inclined I can direct you to some of his other stuff but he is far from the typical country act. He is more outlaw rock than country, if I had to categorize it. He has been on tour with Halestorm, Metallica, and Drive By Truckers in the last few years.

My sarcasm know no bounds. I am getting the whole people bringing me cakes, balloons, and all this shit today. So I took a balloon and put the weighted string in my back pocket so it follows me.

"Oh, you are carrying your birthday balloon with you?"
    "What balloon?"
"The one stuck to your butt"
"<looks behind> I don't see any balloon, sorry. Why are you looking at my ass?"

So many people just look at the hourly wage in picking a job. Many dont take into account travel time, overtime and other things
