My gf, being a stout UVA graduate and anti Tech everything, still says VT has a better Engineering school.
From what I've read both schools are pretty rabid in their school spirit. My decision has basically come down to UVA vs. Tech. UMD would be fantastic for aerospace, but it would be out of state for tuition ($25k-$30k). Why bother with that when I can go to tech for ~$8k or UVA for ~$12k. Tech is ranked higher for engineering, but UVA must have an excellent engineering program as well considering it's one of the best public universities in the country. Everything I've read has made it seem like the program qualities are very close, but there are slight differences in teaching style and curriculum. Without reading info from people with intimate knowledge of each program, it's a bit difficult to come to any solid decision.
Sister was out at a church sale this morning. I had to take the boy to the zoo so I couldn't go. She texts me and says she got a "box full of video game crap for 10 bucks." So of course I'm expecting a box full of old PS2 EA sports titles. Here's everything that was in it.
Namcomuseum Vol3 ps1
Madden 04 ps2
PGA Tour 2004 ps2
NCAA 06 March Madness ps2
Madden 02
MVP Baseball 05
NHL 03
Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus
Sly 2 Band of Thieves
Sly 3 Honor Among Thieves
Socom 3
Spongebob ps2
Vice City
So I'm looking through this and I'm not making my money back. But lo and behold, there was more underneath. And some of it sells for pretty damn good prices considering what this crap is.
Nascar Thunder 2003 - 10 - 15 on Amazon. Don't ask me why. It's cars going in circles.
Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix - 10 - 15
Crash Bash - 4
Taito Legends 2 - 10 - 15
Tenchu Fatal Shadows - 5
Damage Inc - sealed PS3 20
Battle Assault 3 Featuring Gundam Seed - ps2 35 - 40
I'm quite pleased.
you're gonna sell KH1.5?
NASCAR Thunder probably higher priced because that would be the last year to feature Dale Earnhardt. He was killed in 2003.
I should have remembered that better, because in the "Year In Review" edition of po dunk town's newspaper, they had a full page talking about Earnhardt's death, and about two paragraphs about 9/11.
Socom 3 isn't a bad pull, IDK what the prices are for resale if you're trying to be Rick Harrison or w/e from Pawn Stars, but there's a community online who's figured out how to get online Socom 2/3/Combined Assault games going even with online server support ended for the games by Sony and Zipper. I still have my copies of all 3 games although my PS2 died two years ago so I'll need a new PS2 to join those matches once more.
I enjoyed the ps2 entries for Socom. But I don't know if I'd go out of my to go online lol.
I'm going to guess they use xlink kai or something similar.
I'd begin by googling that.
I'm just outside DC right now, but technically home is out near St. Louis, so proximity to where I am now doesn't really matter. I actually haven't been to Charlottesville or Blacksburg. This week is the end of my semester so I was planning on taking a drive to both just to check out the campuses/towns. I'm not terribly concerned with the style of campus/town, but everyone has mentioned that visits are required because the two campuses/towns definitely have different "feels."
Do you currently go to community college in NoVa or one of the local universities? If it was me, like Tyven I probably would choose UVA over tech, but depending on how much money you want to spend vs how many years you have left to go, you may want to choose Tech. Having never been to Blacksburg, I can't comment on that town. However with my GF bringing me to Charlottesville multiple times, I love the area and UVA has a beautiful campus.
My biggest regret was not having the "college experience" I stayed local, went to George Mason and went to school full time while working full time they entire length of my stay. I missed out on the fun parties and such so I would recommend no matter where you go, at least dabble a tiny bit in the campus life.
Blacksburg has a solid rural feel to it, never been to UVA. I too regret missing out on the campus experience, all kinds of wrong priorities and slackerness for school work led me to working more so I've only finished my 2 years at community college and now I'm stuck w/o much of a way to finish.
