I'm not opposed to working at private schools as long as they aren't parochial schools. I have a friend who teaches at my old (Catholic) high school, and she told me that I'd have to keep all of my tattoos covered all the time, I couldn't be on the pill (like I'm not sure how they'd know if I paid for it out of pocket and didn't say anything but w/e), couldn't cohabit, couldn't be openly gay (if I was), couldn't have a pregnancy out of wedlock (whoops, two of those), probably would frown on my divorce, etc. I'm just not about that life.

I will look into that site though. I've made some good connections with teachers in the county where I'd like to teach just through going to college, so I think I should be able to get a job, but every little bit helps.

I forgot to mention, one of the things I am super proud about is how well the costumes went for the show. Though it's middle school, these kids put on like a senior production, it was some serious shit.

Ontop of teaching, I managed to make 11 dresses from scratch ontop of minor alterations to existing costumes. One dress I had to get all creative so a long tail could come out of it.

Since the production, I have gotten so many praises from parents and co-workers. I always have a nice spring in my step by the end of the day.

(side note: I wish I could post the costumes, but because minors are wearing them in the shots, I don't feel comfortable putting them on the internet even if I block out their faces.)

Yeah, school I am at is a secular school. It's basically a school for CEO kids. Which is crazy because everyone is pretty normal, and then you get thrown off by random shit to remind you how well-off these families are. eg. We had a raffle at the play and a parent donated like 6 bottles of wine that were worth over $2000.

I went to a public high school but it was in a very affluent area and sometimes I would forget until kids would show up in a different car every day or brand new sports cars/luxury cars.

I also went to school with the kids of one of the Beach Boys and he would donate all sorts of money and Beach Boys swag to our elementary school every year to raffle off to help raise money for the school. He was super cool about being part of the community and supporting the school.

House I'm closing on next Wednesday was registered with the timed Google Fiber signups in the area. We even stated in our contract that the house must remain signed up for Fiber. I just got off the phone with Google to ask about how to get the registration in my name rather than the seller's once I close on the house. Instead Google proceeds to tell me that the seller has cancelled his/her account which cancelled signup for fiber on the house and there's no way to get back on the signup list as registration has closed.

I don't think I've ever facepalmed so hard before in my life. Obviously having my agent confirm this with the seller's agent and have them try to fix it on their own, but Google told me it's of no use when I had them on the phone. If it did happen, I'll have to wait on a 2nd wave of signups for my area. Not a big enough thing for us to completely cancel our purchase, but I'm extremely unhappy.

Sellers got Google to somehow reverse the cancellation. Now I can get signed up! Going to do it tonight once the wife decides if she wants cable to not. This just made my day.
