I once got an extra tray from the dollar store (cheap plastic halloween one) because it was stuck to the one I was buying so looked like one tray instead of two. Even the cashier rang it up as one tray. It wasn't until I got home that they split into two. I freaked out about it for a good day with my hubby telling me to relax it was just a dollar. I didn't return it. I AM SO AWFUL.

I usually return things though, but I usually find out something wasn't rung up while I am at the parking lot.

My wife and I just went to Costco and bought several large items for the month. There were 3 things on the bottom of the cart that were worth about $75 total that did not get scanned. We made it almost all the way home before my wife realized that the dog food, fruits/veggies, and tablet case were not on the receipt. She drove all the way back and paid for it all.

This is Costco we are talking about. Their loss prevention consists of someone standing at the door checking receipts. The way they check is: Look at receipt, comment on kids, draw a smiley face on receipt, fail to even look at the cart, then wish us a nice day. That's it. That's their entire loss prevention policy in a nutshell.
My family alone spends over $7000/yr there. I really doubt they are worried about firing someone over a single $75 oops. Repeat offenders, sure. Investigate and reprimand/terminate. Their volumes are far too high to spend time on minor occurrences though.

Not to mention their return policy. If you want to return it for any reason after any amount of time, they will accept it and refund you. You do need a receipt if it was purchased at another location, but that's the extent of the restrictions. We returned a pair of boots that sat in a closet for over a year because we forgot about them after we bought them for a christmas present. No questions asked. Random win is; shopping at Costco is awesome.

Been bitching about making a 3 hour-a-day commute for my new temp job, find a permanent position less than 20 minutes away by foot. Only downside is that it pays less, but hey. Anything's better than being a temp. Hate that shit.

Wait, a 3 hour commute driving? Or by mass transit? Because the lower pay with a 3-hour driving commute might actually even out if you're not spending that kind of gas every week.

I'm about 20 minutes away from work this morning just chilling and listening to the radio when I hear on the traffic report that there's a huge accident blocking all lanes on the road that I work on. Now most of you don't know about Tampa Bay, but in Pinellas county where I work, I'm on one of the roads that turns into a bridge over the bay and my actual place of employment is pretty close to where that happens, so there's literally no other way for me to get to work except crossing over to Tampa on another bridge and then coming back across this one.

I wasn't sure exactly where the accident was (and it may very well have been past the point of no return) but as soon as I got to a red light I whipped out my phone and mapped out an alternate route to take which happened to take me right to one of the last possible intersections before the bridge and let out pretty much right in front of my work. The accident was to my left and I'd successfully navigated past it without even being late to work.

Solid red dot is my work, X was the accident, and the circle was where I came out.

If I'd taken my normal route I would have been stuck behind approximately a mile and a half of dead-stopped traffic. Definitely a win, nothing I hate more than traffic.
