I have worked salary jobs for the last 15 years. About a month ago I got a new job working for Amazon, but it is hourly, a first for me in obviously a long time.

I worked 40 hours Mon-Thur and am working today, so I'm getting x2.5 because it's an observed holiday and I'm on overtime naturally.

HOLY GOD DOES THIS FEEL GOOD. I might never go back to salary, wow.

Haha for real, when I went salary at my old job I realized what a terrible mistake I'd made. I used to get all the holidays paid (my boss always had me working them which was fine because I don't have any family here) and mad overtime. Taking salary was a huge fucking pay cut. Good for the company, bad for me. Learned my lesson.

Of course, I'm going into teaching so it's all moot at this point but yeah.

My career path transitions from hourly to salary at the next promotion, but I'm super conflicted on whether to look forward to it or not. The extra pay for extra hours is great of course, but hourly employees are also called on/'expected' to work a lot more than salaried in my position. Plus, I'm not good at moderation, and I end up sacrificing most of my free time for more work (which is even tougher to control when it's paid); even when it's not 'expected.'

Welp, I haven't been on for almost 3 yrs. before I left I had my brother kidnapped for 18 days and then murdered in Mexico. We don't have a body or a grave to go to. On top of that my family disbanded after his death over money. I came out of the closet and started doing Molly's. I found love but it was all a lie(drug related)and then I lost it. I was jobless, 300 lbs and single. I decided to change my life one day when I realize my brother would be very ashamed of me. I started going to the gym, I found a job and became a slut (single 4 lyfe w). I'm currently working as a server at Pf Changs only working the weekends to pay my bills. I'm currently 185lb looking good and feeling great. The gym is my full time. Love lifting weights. I'm very happy now in life. I still miss my brother tho :/

Trust me it's a win I could have been dead. It took a lot of perseverance and will power. Something I didn't have before. For almost 2 yrs I was walking to work and the gym cause I didn't have a car. I have a car now and became a sever making 3x the money I was making before.

I love my position at salary. Barring an emergency I'm just 40 hours a week, I don't have to blow sick leave for doctor appointments, and I get 7 days of paid leave to go along with the 3 weeks of vacation I get based on my tenure. Unions fuck yeah

I'm technically salary here but they pay us for anything over 40. Basically get paid for 40 if I work less and get OT if I work more.

That's the only reason why I haven't became a manager, they work 70 hrs a week with payed vacation but no OT.

Decided to go all or nothing and modified my way of eating to ketogenic. Best fucking decision I've made recently. Dropping inches and pounds easily, no longer craving sugar or snacks, drinking tons more water and I'm not tired all the time.

Due to my work commute I walk on average 3 miles 5 times a week on top of any gym workouts.

I bought a pair of pants on clearance and they wouldn't even button up two weeks ago, now they fit easily.

For the first time I also can wear the women's style shirts at work in an XL and not have to size up. Feels fucking good going into my birthday next week.

Be careful with keto, as long as you manage the fuck out of your intake it's a good thing. Happy for ya.

Thanks for the concern and I track religiously through myfitnesspal and measure and weigh everything. I was already doing low carb with great results ( lost 45 lbs last year and kept 30ish off). I try to keep a steady balance and so far no issues with my body or any gastric distress, if anything I feel BETTER.

Like anything it's not for everyone but I like to think I have a grasp on my lifestyle changes from last year which have contributed to my ongoing success. More than weight though, I feel so much better physically, more alert, less sluggish and my back pain is all but gone in part to it and walking and doing routine exercise.
