Moved to this new place about a month and a half ago, just finally had time to buy a desk and unbox/set up my computer. Feels fucking great man
Had 1 month left in my internship, finally got hired on. I get to keep my car and apartment! yay.
Congratulations!
Just got free tickets to tonight's Penguins game.
For the longest time I kept wondering why I could never get advertised internet speeds (50down/5up). At best got half. Ran speedtest on my Nexus 6 on wifi and saw I got 20% faster at 60down/6up.
Ran to the store to get dualband wifi card and now am happy with fast interweb speeds. Now hoping it solves the random packet loss.
Long dispute with my insurance company over hail damage from 2 months ago.
They cut me a check last week, and are now threatening to cancel my policy because I didn't list my roommate as a driver of my car (even though she has no license)
So instead of dealing with them, I decided to shop around with other companies resulting in myself getting the exact same coverage for $500 less per year from a competitor lol
Business card got drawn at the lunch spot downstairs in my building.
FREE LUNCH FOR 2! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Is this my invitation to the lunch party?
I'm hurt beyond reason at the inability to mooch a free lunch off of you.
Received a NEWEGG email with a $10 gift card for anything. Redeemed for a Regal Cinemas $10 gift card.
Awesome.
You should be, I aimed that to hurt.
Just got notification that the lens I ordered a few days ago that was on back order is shipping today! woohoo glad it didn't take too long.
Two good things happened today.
One: There were six kittens living under one of the classroom buildings. One teacher wanted one desperately. As well, one died because kids are dumb and fed it chicken. It died by choking on a bone. So, like the cat whisperer, this morning I managed to catch three of the five during my prep period. Luckily, one was the kitten the teacher had been eyeing like crazy. And I found two parents to come get the other ones (though one parent picks it up tomorrow). Was fun having them in class, and makes me feel I really should figure out a way to have a pet bunny or something in the classroom. It seemed therapeutic for a lot of kids. Even one kid who I have a rough time with completely melted around the kittens.
I'll try to catch the other two tomorrow.
Two: I had a student say to me today, "You were the first teacher to accept us for who were are." Now, this is the second time I've heard this, but it was at my last school, far away from this one. It helps make validity to the statement, and it's something I definitely want out of being a teacher.
yay. also, bunnies are lame. get a ferret or a chinchilla or something.
