My mom texted me that I can borrow a bunch of her sweatpants/sweatshirts while I'm there, meaning I only have to pack my daytime stuff and undies, which lightened my load considerably.
I'm down to 136! Wooo, getting closer! That's my win. And I sent that Amazon package back today. And I watched Jessica Jones. Sooo, yea I guess I'm good.
Made it here to PA, I'm freezing my ass off (as expected) but so far, my grandfather has bought me lunch and now I'm hanging out with my mom's dog while my mom's at work. Looking forward to a relaxing weekend.
My coworkers had a similar conversation just minutes ago. One complaining it's cold (it's 55 and the sun is even out now) while the other telling him to get the fuck out cause he's from Minnesota. Meanwhile I'm like I wore shorts for my ride into work today... and it was raining then
In Erie it hasn't surpassed 41 (that I've seen). That's too much form my Florida butt. I found a really warm blanket and some fuzzy slippers at my mom's house though, so I'm good for now.
It has also been in the 80s pretty much all of November in Tampa. Yesterday was the first day in months that the temperature dropped below 70 degrees.
In the low 30's right now, dropping into the high 20's tonight, and last night was colder. This is only the beginning too, will be in the negatives within a couple weeks, fuck anyone bitching about 50's lol
I survived the night by the grace of two extremely thick blankets and a space heater. I don't know how I lived in this weather for 26 years.
layers
lots of them
I'll post here and say that I am happy it's getting colder! Even on the bike I'm happy. Fuck the heat, say yes to blankies and hot chocolates!
There comes a point when I get so cold that it doesn't matter how layered I am, I still get chilled through. It absolutely sucks. The heat in this place is god-awful, as well. I should just sleep in the rental car, I sure got the heat cranking in that thing.
Since this is the win thread though, I'll actually post a win, which was the fact that I had a fucking awesome time at the hockey game tonight. I was gonna make a post about it tonight but it's 1AM and I'm pretty fucking wrecked so I'll do it tomorrow (and in the NHL thread).
i don't think you're layering right, then
when i bundle up in the depths of winter to go remove snow i sometimes wear long johns, T shirt, lined pants, sweater, lined overalls, light hoodie, medium hoodie, winter jacket, duster, scarf, two knitted hats, double boot socks, double gloves, and wear all hoods up. shit, even just chilling in the house, if im cold and don't wanna turn on the heat i'll pile on 2-3 pajama pants (fleece), 2-3 sweaters, a hoodie, and double boot socks. on top of the T-shirt and PJs i normally wear.
layering is literally just adding clothes until you retain enough heat to warm up again. it's not instant. moving around helps. the only upper limit to the amount of clothes you can add while layering is what you can physically fit onto yourself.
edit: also, layering works while sleeping. ive gone to bed wearing 3 sets of sweaters/PJ bottoms before.
Do you live in an igloo or something? what the fuck man. It's -12C here (10F), and I'm sitting here in my boxers with the window cracked open an inch.
Am I layering that heavy now? No, because all of that shit wouldn't have fit in my bag. But I have layered before, I used to hunt after all. I'm just cold-blooded. Hence the reason I moved to Florida.
i have mastered the running disrobe.
nynja i don't usually bundle up that much, just giving examples of when i was extremely cold since aks seems to always be extremely cold. can't play vidya with cold fingers.
aks i thought your parents said you could borrow their shit? or like an aunt or someone? i aint tryin'a talk you into moving back up north, just trying to help you enjoy it while you're there, lol
Well I'm not playing vidya here, I have WoW on my laptop but it kind of sucks. And at home, I'm never this cold because I just crank up my heat.
