I think this thread and the Real-Life thread randomly pop up old-school BG drama in weird spurts. Hell we got 2 stories for the price of one on that last page!

I don't know what happened to Isla, either nor the stories behind it.
I'm still a source sometimes, but I embrace it more than get defensive (anymore anyway) shit happened, people were human, i touched a dick, lips were met, etc, etc. (That's not including the Myrhh Chronicles (ongoing) and the Ivve-Saga)
edit: in b4 case in point, bringing it up![]()
Basically Isladar started going social justice (several years before the whole thing hit the internet in force like it has the past two years), it began to inform her admin activities.
The people who are on the other side of that fight were none too pleased. Drama ensued, mod powers flowed a step too freely, and the excuse came in to being to cause Isla step down/walk away/be run out of town (depending on who you ask).
Nice summary, thanks!
It didn't help that she literally had her own little echo chamber in spam too. Things would brew in there before she lashed out in general.
I always thought it was weird that she had her own section, and none of the other mods had that. I'd love to hear the origin of that, if anyone knows how that came to be.
Yeah, I got my only "legit" infraction during that time when I made a furry joke in a Smash Bros. thread relative to a screenshot posted. Meanwhile, I'd seen others slinging the word around with seemingly virtual immunity, including a thread title in the anime section. So, while I know I don't really fall into any of the circles here, it was still kinda wtf to me.
Airenn likes black guys, she once touched a white dick and it immediately fell off.
It was at this point Airenn realized she was literally cancer.
Oh man all this delicious drama. Can't wait to hear more
It's more the fact that if the threads they made were getting posted to general, people would be all "wtf why is this filling the board". A steady diet of IAS style isn't something most people can take. Hell, many can't even take a little bit.
Even old-spam would only have taken so much, and spam is it's own section for similar but not completely the same reasons. (And not everyone remembers, but spam originally started as a Rocl section, so there isn't a singular "why did Isla get something special" case.)
Also, the majority of IAS were members of the same LS, so like BG LS and FC (and mods) it had a subsection, the difference being that unlike the others, it was publicly accessible for a number of years.
As for "things would brew in there before she lashed out in general". Now, I didn't have access to IAS in the two years before the blowout, so I can't speak to the state of it at that time. But a number of IAS (and spamites) were mod crew. Most non-obvious mod actions get some discussion before action, and since a number of said mods were conveniently present, the discussion would happen then and there.
Most of Isla's public work was playing whack-a-mole with idiots in the XI cross server section. And yeah, there was mockery of said idiots on occasion (the same thing happens in spam, but most of the ones doing it in there aren't mod crew, so no action to rile people up happens). But honestly, when you guys give shit to Aks, Ryan, or Rata, it's kind of the same, so don't go tossing stones.
My greatest work.
This thread now needs more rl pictures of said people.
I think the vast majority of Isla's complaints were addressed by the recruitment of Bane to anal retentively police the poopdeck.
