That's not the whole of why I don't want to say, but here it is:

She confided a lot to me at the end. Sath basically hit the nail on the head. She was converting to Catholism. She was an atheist before. I think she told me a lot about it since I am also Catholic. But I think she was trying really hard to impress God or the church or something by converting.

Since I am Catholic I was/am super happy for her. Just I know she went overboard, but I felt bad because I know it was with good intentions. I think she took the whole concept of "Good Deeds" too far.

Not just religion though. Know how to spot someone who has been a vegetarian since they were a kid? I sure don't. Know how to spot someone who has been a vegetarian for three weeks? They're the ones who took out the billboard next to your house to shame you for eating a burger.

Extend to any major life change someone makes post age 15.

Edit: Woman who got a dude fired for saying slut on facebook is good example. Her tweets from 1-2 years prev. are chock full of all sorts of colloquial slurs inc. slut/cunt/bitch etc. But now it is her life goal (self-proclaimed) to get men fired for saying it because somethingsomething new perspective.

Yep. There was a video about male feminists and the 3 kinds there are and one of them was basically exactly this.

I truly cannot fathom how anyone can go from athiest (and maybe even agnostic) to believing in god (presumably again). You've experienced knowing (or at least believing) there's no god. You've opened yourself to really see the world, the shit that happens and wonder why anyone would put their faith in a deity that even allows child rape (not to mention the rest of the shit in the world) and then go back to believing this deity "has a plan/reason." You justify it with texts from a book. Cherry pick, because really there's no other way to justify the world as it is without doing so.

I'm not trying to knock your faiths, I just can't fucking wrap my head around it.

If you are going to credit God with the bad that happens to a person, then are you going to credit God for the good that happens? In other words if you blame God for a child being raped or murdered, do you then thank him for the vast majority that don't experience that? If God affects the world you can't blame him for the bad without simultaneously admitting the good.
